I must admit I am feeling a bit of guilt.   Although I really should not.   J’s parents are opting out of our family feast that was meant for everybody to enjoy and more to the point, NOT have to pick whose house we go to and all of the jazz.   But with his Dad’s heart news and stuff, my MIL’s heart is NOT into the holiday at all.   So now I feel like I should have cancelled the festivities here and gone there.   She is cooking a small meal for them there, and I told J that I would not be insulted at all if he chose to eat there.   Or visit, at the very least.   His dad could not be here next time around, though things sound just fine as far as his health.   My MIL is very good at taking the bad news over the positive news and focusing on that very hard.   It’s sad.

But I have a little girl that is at the right age to start making traditions happen.   Having her home watching rented movies and playing with her toys while I prepare a monstrous turkey is wonderful to me.   She seems kind of excited about Thanksgiving.   I can’t feel guilty about that!!!   I have her saying the grace tonight before we all eat, and it’ll be nice.   There will be people practically sitting on carpet to eat, but that is fun to me.   The more people that are in the holiday mood, the better.

So I should be A-OK with how this day is going.   The turkey is going into the oven soon and looks great.   The house is getting spiffed up.   Food will be eaten in a few hours.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you in the States.   I am thankful to everyone, including my friends that do not celebreat the holiday.
