Hi, all.   What’s shaking?

It is HOT here and I am hiding in  the house whole J and Kooky play out back together.   They don’t mind it like I do.   I was already out in it while her and I went to the big warehouse store for pull ups, cookies, and their delicious ice cream.   I took her after school after getting there early due to my miserable attempt at the promotion test this afternoon.   I know so little about real accounting and I have been with the county for 5 years.   My job isn’t your standard bookkeeping type thing, and mostly that is a good thing.   Unless you’re trying to test to promote.   We’ll see what happens.   I am not worried one way or the other.

J is pretty much going back to work in just over 2 weeks.   Possibly light duty, but I am so glad!   I know he’ll be tired and grumpy from working a lot again once he is back to driving and that Kooky and I might be alone a lot more, and I’ll miss the time that they have together as much as the two of them will.   But we’ll have some decent cash flow again and he’ll feel more productive.   I think it’ll be OK.   I won’t want to kill him anymore, at least.   🙂  We can get caught up, even though we will probably officially be behind on only 1 bill and that is a matter of paying the late charge and catching up.   I can handle that.   J also said we are going back to the warehouse store for some decent stocking up on meat for the BBQ.   We have all been eating very simple as of late.   Kooky is cool with it, I think, but I miss meals.   I want to cook for a change.

I decided on a place for Kooky’s 3rd birthday party.   I know it’s not until December.   But I had a few choices.

1.   Bounce House establishment.   I LOVED the one that we went to, but she didn’t.   Why pay the $$$ for her to not enjoy herself, right?

2.   Any random fast food joint with the massive play structure.   Cheap alternative, but kind of yucky and December is touch and go weather.   Not all are indoors.

3.   Home.   Too many people for here.   She is a preschooler now and has friends and teachers that will want to celebrate with her.

4.  Renting a place.   The decision is made.   $20/hour and room for 200.   We won’t have that much at all, but the kiddos will have room to run around and I am thinking of making it a dance party too.   She loves to dance right now and digs her music.   There will be a main theme, and we are in talks about that.   She adores Toy Story, but it seems to boy like for me.   I think I have her hooked on a ladybug theme for right now.   She is terribly excited and it’s months away.   We are making it from 3-5 and that way I can have chips and snack and then the cake and ice cream.   The clubhouse has a kitchenette and all of that as well as tables and chairs on site included in the price.   I think it shall be a ball of a time.

I guess I’ll go.   I hear the troops in the living room!

Kiera is the only one that thinks about birthday parties. I don’t even want to get her started. I loved having her birthday party at home. I didn’t like some of the girls. We invited everyone from her class due to her being the ‘new’ girl. I learned that some of them weren’t very nice! Next time, we’re being very selective on invitations. I rather have one great to ten snobs. The onething that I’ve learned from hosting a party for three years olds is that you need structured party time. For my son, it was a jungle theme with a treasure hunt at the end. We dug the ‘treasure’ out of our back yard by following a map. Inside were the goodie bags for the departing guests. I remember doing a craft, pinata, hot dogs…and stuff…my sister helped me and she was exhausted. My daughter’s favourite party was at a children’s hairdresser place. All the girls got hair with glitter, make up and nails. She was eight years old and it was perfect. LOL!
