Why my son got suspended and stuffs…

Oh yeah, the other thing I wrote about (that OD ate) is Jonathon getting suspended. The story goes that he pushed his brother and when a teacher was coming over to discipline him, he got mad and made fists and shook them, which was seen as a threat towards the teacher.

*sigh*

the Vice Principal said that he’s had problems all year long and that his teacher said she has been talking to me. I just blinked. I haven’t heard squat or squoot from that damn teacaher, so she was lying or insane or both. Anyway, they let him come back today and I haven’t gotten a call, so I suppose he’s behaving. It’s his last day of school and I wanted him to be able to say goodbye to his friends and stuff since he’ll be going to a new school next year.

I’m going in to try again with the counseling, but I’ll be damned if they try to pin ADHD on him again. I’ll go nuts. I’ll have to deman a new therapist if they try it again. I won’t tolerate it. He needs anger management and plain old therapy to work out all of his abandonment issues with his dad and stuff. He won’t talk to me about it. And when he does talk to me, he just wants to ask me why his dad left him and I never know what to say.

Anyway, we’ll see.

so back to work.

Baboo downloaded this cd called "Treasure Box" by the Cranberries and it has ALL OF THEIR ALBUMS on it, with bonus tracks and I’m in total revelry right now. I love that group… and this song "Ode to My Family" makes me cry cuz I remember listening to this back in the day, I was like 19… jesus… so many freakin memories to this music.

Anyway… yeah, work.

I have a bunch of crap to do cuz I’m off the rest of the week. but I’ll take some time tomorrow to read and leave notes cuz I miss you guys! I have been trying to do a little bit today, but I haven’t been leaving notes. so sorry! i’ll bombard you all soon!!!

You’re a good mom. Half the time ADHD is a kid being a kid. I think he should not have been suspended unless he HIT the woman. How could she tell if he was just shaking his fists in anger or if he meant her harm? If he’d wanted to hit her, wouldn’t he have hit her? I think it shows restraint that he did NOT hit her. Why didn’t they talk to him and find out what was going on instead of just suspending him? This makes me upset.

Kids will be kids. It’s always sad when teachers or whomever take a moment of “humanity” and make it into something it isn’t. A colleague of mine’s child kicked a teacher last week. Shit, sometimes kids just lash out. It’s not easy being young and misunderstood. Good luck to you and your boy. I’m actually going to download than Cranberries collection now. Download? when you were 19? Old fart. LOL. 🙂 I like that! And, I would’ve at least given Jonathon a time out, for having done that! But I do admit that suspending him is a little extreme! And, there’s something shady about that teacher if she said that she talked to you and she never! If she can lie like that then she’s not a very good role model for being a teacher!

Aaaaaaah I hate this ADHD bull crap! I cannot believe he got suspended! Reprimanded, sure, but suspended?? You are a great mom hun, kids are like that, they freak out and get mad, hell, I remember doing it! Good luck with everything 🙂 x

I love Cranberries! Sorry about the school issues. I remember when Connor was almost kicked out of daycare for a tantrum that he threw. I hate when the kids misbehave in school.

Hmmmm….I can understand that the teacher felt compelled to “do something” but I don’t necessarily agree that shaking balled up fists is a sign of aggression towards anyone in particular. It just sounds like frustration to me.

((HUGS))) It has been the same way with Caden this year about his dad! Whenever he asks I just tell him I don’t know! Who could understand why someone abandons their child! Especially a mother! Your doing a good job with him! I hope you can get him the help he needs!!
