Vegas Baby! (3: The low point of the trip)

OK! So back to Vegas entries. As a reminder to self, I must do a two entries outside of sequence: Baboo Entry and Vegas Sex Entry

yes, both must be done.

OK, so back to it!

Saturday morning we woke up feeling pretty damn crappy, but we had THINGS TO DO (feeling yucky did not stop us from having some nice morning sex though! rawr! details in a later entry if you care. ha ha)!!!

Plus, we wanted them to get to our room early and make the bed and give us fresh towels.

So we got up and dressed and headed out to the MGM Grand. I must say that the MGM was my favorite casino, next to the Venetian. I would love to stay there! We walked through and I was starving. Baboo wasn’t so hungry because he felt toxic. He had been throwing up before we left in the morning. I guess his mix of hard liquor and beer made a bad mark on his body. He is really sensitive like that.

Anyway, we walked through the MGM in search of some pizza or chinese food. We didn’t find anything really because most restaurants weren’t open (it was only about 10:30 at this time) and we were just sorta skimming past things. We did stop to see the lions at the MGM and they were so cute! There was a big male sitting on top of this waterfall just slurping up water. His tongue was HUGE! Then a female came up and he startes sniffing her butt and totally acting like he was gonna bounce up on it (ha ha)… we got pictures!

Anyway, after that we went upstairs and checked out the New York, New York.

I was not impressed. I saw where the Coyote Ugly was and stuff, but really I was expecting things to be more impressive.

I mean, it was ok, but the "Times Square" area was just not what I expected. I thought it would be outside or at least have a lot of big monitors and things with music and flashing lights… but it almost seemed more tame.

The casino actually seemed sorta smallish. Baboo was not really liking the shirt he was wearing, so we bought him a t shirt. He went to change and was gone for like 10 minutes throwing up again! I was sorta confused and frustrated because there was nothing I could do for him and he just looked like death. I went through my phone and found out that the Luxor had a buffet that seemed pretty good (with pizza that I was craving!)… so we decided to make our way there. We passed over into the Excalibur… it was ok, but I didn’t think we’d be going back. We then passed over into the Luxor.

I liked the look of that casino and this bar in the middle that had rain falling around the middle of it. I wanted to go there later, but we didn’t get a chance. We found the buffet and ended up paying 8 bucks more than I thought per person for this dumb champagne brunch. I only decided to go because I could get some Mimosa’s! I drank about 3 of them and got pretty tipsy. the only really good thing there was this teriyaki chicken stir fry… the pizza was bleh … oh and i had a giant slice of lemon merengue pie. that was super good!

Baboo was still feeling sick and so we decided we’d just trek back to the room and lay down until later when we could get ready for dinner and maybe gamble a little.

So we trekked back to the room (I think we may have stopped and played a game or something, but we maybe not…) and it was around 2ish and our old butts laid down!!! ha ha.

We stayed in the room until it was time for dinner.

Baboo was still feeling horrible and I was starting to feel a little sick myself. I had slept for maybe an hour and watched tv the rest of the time. I knew we needed to recover so we could have a fun night, so I didn’t mind it… even if it did make me feel old that we had to take so many naps!

dinner reservations weren’t until 7:30 but we had to leave around 6:30…

I had to put on my stupid shoes (at some point the previous night we had been going back to the room and I took my shoe off and noticed the missing pad on the bottom. I lamented the loss and said the poor thing was lost and alone somewhere in vegas… it was hilarious at the time… guess you had to be there… and you had to be drunk!)… so walking was bound to be slow. We had to go over to Planet Hollywood and ended up walking through a mess of stores and things.

We finally got to the restaurant and the dumb bitchy midget with giant boobs hostess (if you’re a midget or have giant boobs… or both, don’t get offended… jeesh) acted like we didn’t have a reservation. She had to be a midget because she was way shorter than me and I make it out of the category by 2 measly inches. ha ha! Anyway, they wanted to sit us outside in front of the restaurant along this walk way. The seats were not very comfortable and one was a long bench we had to share with another table.

Uhhh no thanks.

Once again: BABOO SAVES THE DAY!!!

He went inside and got us seated in the actual restaurant. The hostesses were mad dogging and giving us crazy looks for the rest of the night… but they also weren’t able to sit anyone else in those crappy seats either! bah!

We had a nice server guy who wanted to talk to us in Spanish. Baboo had to tell him I couldn’t speak it. ha ha.

I was craving a soda but the minute I started drinking it I started to feel bloated and sick. This was the Brazilian grilling place and I wanted to chow down most righteously… but i COULDN’T. Everything felt really heavy in my stomach and I could barely eat half of the portions of meat they were dropping off. I didn’t even want to drink alcohol because I was feeling so gross. I tried to burp several times, but it only alleviated the pressure for a short time.

I was so bummed.

The grilled pinapple was REALLY GOOD though. It was an interesting taste… just warm and so juicy! I loved it! Other good meats were the tri tip and the filet mignon and this spicy chicken thigh. I waited until the very end before I got my delicious bacon wrapped turkey breast. It was really REALLY good. Worth the wait.

But after as we were leaving I just felt really crappy. Baboo was actually on the mend, while i was going downhill.

DAMN IT!!

So our two old butts puttered over to an overpriced store and got some alka seltzer and a $4 bottle of water. We went to the Halo Bar and got some cute cups (which we lost at some point, boo!). We sat down and almost immediately after drinking it, we felt better. Go figure! (I wish I had my pictures now so you could see the faces I was making.. ha ha!)

That signaled the upswing to our night!

We had to get back on the tram to get over the MGM to take a tram from the front of Excalibur over to Mandalay Bay. I was going to make it to Eyecandy if it killed me!!!

But as we started to feel better I could feel the tide of the day (which had been sluggish and sickly and making me sad) turning…

Indeed, the rest of the night was amazing and fabulous! Totally the high point of the trip!

Next Entry: EYECANDY!!!! (Crazy drunks, good times, twins, and running with no shoes on!)

We stayed at the Luxor when we were there. It was ok. I was pissed because they charged me $20 for the champagne brunch for my 13 year old!! I swear I saw a sign that said the buffet was only $12.99 or something. Then we get up there and she says it’s b/c of the champagne. I was like, “I don’t want champagne.” She wouldn’t budge. Bitch! LOL.

These are real lions? I’m so baffled!

April 25, 2009

I stayed at the MGM Grand last summer, and only got to see the lions once- they were doing maintenance on the exhibit so the lions were at home or something. Boo! Definitely loved the MGM’s casino, though. You make me want to go back!!
