stressing just a bit *e the letter of groveling
So… the people at Wells Fargo OBVIOUSLY cannot read.
I wrote a letter and sent it to them about a week or so ago. I haven’t heard back from them, but I suppose they are now calling my old job driving them batshit crazy even though they were told I don’t work there anymore. I pray and HOPE they don’t give out my number here (confirmed that they won’t, shwew!) because I can’t be harrassed by these idiots all damn day while I’m at work. I won’t do it.
I specified in the letter that I was not going to do business over the phone and that I’d prefer to do it in person or via written communication. They obviously don’t want ot do that. I don’t want to be talked to like some sort of lunatic on the phone. I’ve been there and done that and I wont’ do it until I’m forced. I put my situation out there and they can do what they want.
I’ve been waiting to come home and have the car gone. I haven’t cleaned it out yet because somehow I’ve lost the damn key and can’t get in it. ha ha!
I sorta wish they would just take the damn thing and take me to court. I really can’t be too upset over it. It is what it is. They can’t get blood from a stone and I’m just salivating to get in front of a judge and tell him exactly what’s going on.
Hell, I might have to file bankruptcy and hope and pray my dad will sign to get me a car he knows I will pay for.
It will be my only option if it comes down to it. Bankruptcy, get everything taken away, and start from scratch.
at fucking 30.
what the hell.
it just stresses me out so much that I have to even deal with this crap.
oh well.
and to make it worse, OD probably won’t even save this crap.
I thought, for posterities sake, I’d post the letter I sent to those idiots. I think I was clear and groveling and pitiful enough for them to not bug the holy crap out of me. But I suppose that is too much to ask.
*sigh*
Anyway, here is the letter:
I am writing to you in regards to my auto loan, account number: blah blah blah . As my records indicate, I am currently behind on payments for this vehicle, which is a 2005 Kia Sorento. This vehicle has currently been under repair and taken a large amount of money to fix. I am a single mother with two small children and not having a vehicle to transport them in is very troublesome and causes a lot of stress and hardship on my family. With the recent issues with the car (which are not completely resolved as it has transmission and brake problems) I have run out of money to keep it running and stay current on my car payments.
At this time, I do not feel as if I have many options. I have recently taken a pay cut at my job and my cost of living has increased. I can no longer afford car payments that are over $600, as they are now. With my current financial situation, I cannot afford a payment larger than $150 to $200. I am not sure if there is an option to refinance my current loan to accommodate that amount. If possible, I would be more than willing to proceed with that option so that I do not default on my loan and complete my obligation to your company. I am in no way trying to get out from under the responsibility that I took on when I accepted the loan from you.
However, if it is not possible to refinance the vehicle at this time and lower my payments considerably, I do not know what else I can do. I am devastated to be at this point in my life, but I have to make sure my children are cared for. If a refinance is out of the question, then I will voluntarily surrender the vehicle to you at the location of your choosing. I know that even with this option, I will still have to pay off the debt, but hopefully I can work out a payment plan that fits into my current budget.
I would prefer to communicate either in writing or in person in order to document and clearly communicate regarding this issue. I have limited cell phone usage which I would like to conserve to use in case of emergency with my children at this time. If it is not possible to complete this business transaction at a branch or through the mail, I will use the phone, but that would be my last choice.
Once again, I would like to apologize for this situation. I am a hard worker and I am ashamed that this is happening. However, circumstances are out of my control and I am doing my best to resolve this issue without further damage to your company and my household. I hope that we can resolve this as soon as possible, which I am sure will be helpful to both of us. Thank you for your time and understanding.
And you know those fuckers haven’t written me back to say "we need to talk on the phone"… nope. they just want to ambush me. Well too bad. The cell number they have is about to get turned off (and I havent’ had the phone on in months) and the work number they have is old. They have my current address and they can work from there or don’t do anything at all damn it!
ugh!
stressin me out yo!
I need ice cream!
for dinner!
I effing hate companies like that. Bankruptcy would suck, but if it’s what you need… Have you talked w/ a debt consolidator or financial advisor? They can help you manage your $$ before making the plunge into bankruptcy. I really wish we could’ve received the billion dollar bailout. It would’ve gone to bills and economy stimulation anyway. Then everyone would be happy.

Your story makes me scared of Wells Fargo, but I think that’s who we’re getting our home loan through…

*hug* I understand the money worries… I’m having to consider taking out another student loan despite the debt I already have, and I hate it… at 30, and I feel like I can’t get my feet under me at all.

I really really like the letter you wrote. VERY professional. You so smart.

Very well put, but Wells Fargo SUCKS! They harrassed me when I was a cosigner on a car for my best friend. They were never late and they always called them if they were close to being late and paid over the phone. They would still call and tell me to give them the money. They would ever get really rude with me, and I’d pretty much have to bitch them out for talking to me like that. I can’t stand them.

we’re still dealing with my husband’s old car on out credit. he got the loan 10 yrs ago! supposedly it can only stay on your credit for 7 yrs. try not to go bankrupt if you can manage it. eventually wells fargo will do a ride off on the loan and you wont owe anymore. they hardly ever make a deal to lower payments. they are money hungry!
Warning Comment
Its illegal for them to be contacting you at work anyway! What is up with that???

I doubt they will ever contact you. I actually sold a truck that I had financed through them (LONG story) and they just put on my credit report that they repo’ed it. Go figure.
