Spicy Pork Tenderloin Bowl Recipe
OK!!!
It must be recipe day!
I thought I would be at lunch right now, but I have to sit here and wait because everyone left and we may have people walking in to fill out forms, so I’m stuck and it sucks and OH WELL.
I might get l unch in about half an hour.
In the meantime, I will give you a recipe for an experimental dish I made this weekend.
Ingredients:
Pork Tenderloin Roast
1 large onion
1 large green pepper
1 large red pepper
Fresh Garlic (or garlic powder)
Seasoning Salt
Soy Sauce (Kikkoman)
Teriyaki Sauce (Kikkoman)
Teriykai Glaze (Kikkoman of course)
Stir Fry Sauce (Kikko what?! lol… yes Kikkoman)
Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce
Jasmine Rice
various other seasonings mentioned below.
Preperation and cooking:
It is sorta done all by "eye" so I don’t have exact measurements. I guess this would be for "intermediate to advanced" cooks because you really have to know how much of something actually tastes good and be able to season things by eye.
but it was REALLY yum and I realize that I can probably make a version of the spicy chicken bowl at home!
Ok, so first I used a pork tenderloin roast. I didn’t want to just bake it or whatever, so I cut it into bite sized chunks and sauteed them in olive oil with a dash of seasoning salt (not a lot!), garlic powder (fresh garlic would probably be even better), and pepper.
When that was done cooking I added soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, stir fry sauce and teriyaki glaze sauce. I did all of this by eye. I added about a cup of water and put in the sauces until the liquid was a light brown. I’d say I used about a tablespoon or two of soy and teriyaki sauces each, about 2 tablespoons of stir fry sauce (they sell it in a jar thingy…) and 1 table spoon of teriyaki glaze (thicker and sweetened, not like the regular teriyaki that comes in a bottle). I’m tellin you, I can’t for sure say how much, but that’s what i used!
I added some more pepper and garlic powder, but the garlic powder would probably not be needed if I had used some fresh chopped garlic.
I let that simmer together while I went to the veggie step.
I had some diced onions and red and green peppers. I think you could even do these in strips and it would taste even better. I sauteed them in a little bit of olive oil as well. I wanted them to stay a bit crispy, so I only sauteed them for at most 5 minutes. I then transferred the cooked veggies to the pan with the meat and sauce and folded it in.
I let this simmer while I cooked the rice.
When the rice was done I checked the consistency of the sauce. It was a little watery, so I made a mixture of corn starch and water and poured about… oh i’d say a tablespoon in and stirred like crazy. The sauce thickened immediately. I let it simmer for about 5 more minutes.
Now here is the spicy part!
I filled a bowl with rice and poured the meat and veggie and sauce mixture on top. I then drizzled a healthy amount of red chili sauce and mixed it all up.
SO FREAKIN GOOD!!!
Not exactly like a spicy chicken bowl (that has bok choy and carrots and broccoli and is less saucey and the meat is grilled), but it’s a great alternative. I am going to try and make my own spicy chicken bowl from home this week. I need to get some sesame oil, I think they use that in the base of the sauce itself. But yeah, I’ll tell you how it goes. There is another red sauce they use that I can’t quite identify. It’s not red chili sauce, it’s different and has the chili seeds in it. I’ll have to look around the asian section of the grocery store!
Anyway, I’m starving (obviously) and lunch MAY be in 20 minutes… again.
lol.
but i doubt it.
i bet i’ll be here till amost 2 waiting.
by that time i’ll probably eat my other plum and not be so starving.
That is all…
*E: Oh, and my kids liked this meal as well! I didn’t add the red chili sauce to theirs tho!

Cool. So, what are your hours and when do you get off work? (I’ve asked you this before, and also about the time difference between where we live. Lol.)
