Sleeping in his Crib
I am so proud of my little Jonathon! I’ve been trying to discipline myself and train him to sleep in his crib at nights. He has slept with me since he was born, and even though I adore having him snuggled up with me, he needs to learn what his own bed is and that when he’s in there it’s time to sleep. This should help him take better naps and sleep longer during the night. I started this week, but it wasn’t going so well. I’d lay him down, he’d wake up, he’d scream, I’d put him in bed with me and that would be that.
Well, last night I put him down and he woke up. I decided I’d turn on his little night light and leave the room and see what he decided to do. I kept my attention riveted to his monitor, waiting for the screams to erupt. I even snuck into the room a few times to sneak him kisses. He just layed there and talked to his mobile and the bumper pad. He sucked his fingers for a little while. And then everything got quiet. I waited a few minutes and snuck in again.
He had fallen asleep all on his own! His blanket was still tucked in around him, unlike most other times when he kicks it off, and he was sound asleep. I had to cry, my little baby is getting so big!!!!
He stayed asleep until after midnight, which is rare, he usually wakes up around 10 to eat. I put him in bed with me for the rest of the night, more for me than for him I’m sure. We’re going about this slowly, soon, he’ll sleep through the night and he’ll stay in his crib the whole time. I’m looking forward to it bittersweetly. I think he’ll have to sleep with me on the weekends, until I get over it. He’s my whole life, ya know? He’s my whole entire life.
OK, that was a cute entry. I give you credit for that. LOL Later,

Isn’t that always the way? You get annoyed as heck with them for waking you up at all hours of the night, and then when it ends, you cry because they don’t need you as much anymore. My friend Joann is having a baby. I hope she turns out to be as loving as you. ~~~Gina~~at~~~~~>

Aww……Isabel slept with us until she was about nine or ten months. She was just fine when she switched to her crib. I miss the feeling of her curled up next to me.

I love what an adorable mommy you are…and so good too. See, you are not crazy, you have just been in bad situations. Get the ASL certification and continue to be an incredible mother, live in a place where you feel safe and secure and everything else will fall into place! 🙂
