I can’t take it anymore!
So it’s driving me absolutely BONKERS having my poor dog inside of the crate all day… so I think we’re gonna try to have him blocked into this little cove area that leads into the bathroom. I think I can do it with some of my bigger containers… it’ll be a pain, but it’ll have to do until he is more acclimated to the house. Just thinking of my poor baby with that giant cone on his head cooped up makes me feel all nervous and upset. so no more crating all day. He can crate at bedtime and that’s good enough. I will put down a puppy pad for him to use the bathroom, but he can’t do too much damage to the bathroom so … yeah.
ugh, i wanna go home and let him out of there!!!!
(hug) Poor Pup.

I never crated – I’m too much of a sap, like you by the sound of it!

Weighing heavily upon your mind, even when you’re at work eh! Hugs!

Yeah we just close our puppy inside the bathroom when we’re not home. Put his kennel in there with some training pads… although he’s started to try to rip those apart! You’re lucky you don’t have a puppy 😛 I’d be sad with the doggy locked up all day too, poor guy.

i’ve always crated my weiner doggy. I think she feels safer there. I say “Boo, go to your room” (when it’s time to go in there) she walks straight in it.

We crate trained Molly and she loved it. It becomes their safe place. As long as it’s not treated as a punishment box, they begin to see it as their den. I know it’s hard though. 🙁

I have a bathroom that is pretty much out of order for thinking along those same lines but then again your baby puppy is a lot smaller than mine so you’ll probably be alright.

My sister and my BIL got a bull mastiff puppy and he loved his crate. They definately feel safe in small enclosed places and during thunderstorms he’d run into his crate and try to curl up into the corner. Just imagine a 120 lb dog cowering in the crate. He was such a big baby

We crate our puppies during the day. I am close enough that I come home on my lunch hour to let them out to pee. If they are out and the crate door is open they will go in there and go to sleep. Like everyone else said – it’s like their little den.

i dont like those crate things either. you look sorta like a hot latina actriss who i think killed zombies in a movie once so i can see you being all bad ass zombie slayer chic.

Both of my dogs are crated all day. It is good for them. The crate lets them know they have a ‘space’ of their own. Although, my dogs are a bit bigger and can / could / probably would cause alot more damage. 🙂
