Farewell Jasper

I have a sad announcement to make. My hamster of 2 and a half years has died. His name was Jasper, and he was the best hamster a girl could ever ask for. I had other hamsters in the past. They bit me and hated me, ran away or died before a year had past. But not Jasper. He loved my attention and would cuddle against my neck when i put him on my shoulder. The last time I saw him, I peeked into his cage on Sunday night and talked to him. He sniffed my nose and hobbled to his bed. He was a really old hamster, ya know. I tried to give him a good life.

He always had a clean cage. I bought him treats like cheese nibbles and honey logs and wheels of vegetables. I played with him and talked to him. He had been mine thru a lot of my drama and always listened when I needed to talk. He had been my only friend for awhile. It’s hard to believe how attached I was to that little fuzzball.

I’m going to make a little tribute to him on my webpage soon. For now, he’ll stay snuggled in my heart. He was such a great pet. I’ll miss you, Jasper. Farewell…
