Bald with Long hair
First of all, I’m hoping that this damn entry saves. Second of all, what is up with OD?!!! And third of all… I’m going bald and yet, my hair is the longest it’s ever been.
Actually, it’s not my hair. sniff sniff. I’ve always wanted long hair. When I was little, I had hair down my back, It was so pretty. I know because I’ve seen pictures. When I was about 10, my stepmother granted me the privelege of taking care of that mane, my hair was really thick and I had so much of it, it was virtually impossible to comb through it without help. So I didn’t. Heh… my hair was a wreck, and when I went to visit an aunt she hacked it all off to above my shoulders. My step mother was devastated (which is funny to me since she left me to take care of it in the first place when I had no clue!), and my hair hasn’t grown back since. It’s gotten a little long… but never reached the length that it was.
Well, recently, I’ve just gotten sick of the process I have to go thru to make my hair manageable. The blow drying, the straightening, the maintenence. It’s just a hassle. I decided I’d put some braids in it… and then I saw this cool extension hair, so I put that with the braids and made them really long. The hair at the ends is free, so it’s as if I have really long hair again!!! Yay! It is a strange feeling, having hair down my back, but it’s cool. It’s so funny, people think it’s mine.. ha ha ha. Like my hair would grow that fast.
Now it’s time for the sad news. I was admiring my new fake hair (ha, that is so funny to me, but I don’t much care if it’s fake, i like it!), when I noticed that in the front, hidden by the braids are two identical thinning/bald spots on both sides of my head. I almost fainted. My hair is thinning!!!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Thats just what I get! I complain about my hair and it goes on strike and starts falling out! Fortunately, I can cover it, and it’s not TOO bad. I want it to hurry up and grow back. But I keep thinking, what if it doesn’t???
I think it might be hormonal. I have less body hair all around. But I think I might want to keep the hair on my head… perhaps, ya think? Sigh… so now I’m drinking a lot more milk and taking my vitamins and praying to the hair gods to restore my mane. It’s just those two spots, so I’m thinking it’s where I pulled really hard to put in these french braids I always wore. I’m the braid queen I tell ya. You show me a braid, I can duplicate it in a second. It won’t do me any damn good if I have no hair to braid!!!!
So here I sit, disturbed and confused. I have my fake long hair and bald spots hidden beneath it. Jeesh, only me. it can only happen to me.
awww.. heh.. you make me chuckle though in the way you word things.. hehee. ahem.. but I’m sorry to hear about your bald spots.. I’m sure it’s only caused by pulling -like you said. I have naturally curly hair, and there was a point in time when I was OBSESSED with pulling it straight.. only at that time, I didn’t use the correct products, and ended up damaging my hair.. well, right on the t

top of my head, I had about 3 inch hair. All of the rest was long accept for those pieces. And lemme tell you it was AWFUL, and there was no way to cover it up. I had damaged my hair soo badly that it just broke off.. Well, I had to go to the salon and get a ‘boy’ cut to even it all out.. it looked cute I guess. but I was DEVESTATED.. so, in a way, I completely understand..It will grow back.

Well from what I’ve heard, keeping hair too long ain’t that good cos it causes hair loss faster cos of the extra weight or something.

I betcha it could happen to me, too! lol I’m sorry, I’m trying to make light of a stressful situation. But my luck runs that way, too. And if I were to pray to the hair gods, my wish would be granted. I’d have long hair. Like, nosehair to my ankles. 😉
