A basket full of things
Ok, I return from my "hiatus" with THINGS!!!!
* I should have updated sooner. I suck. Sorry! Some of you have me on Facebook so you might have seen how things turned out, so … yeah.
*I went to the school and talked to the counselor / coach about Jon’s incident. The head woman was actually REALLY fair and awesome. She listened to Jonathon and didn’t just jump on the "she’s a girl and she’s an angel princess" bandwagon. She acknowledged that the girl was also in the wrong, but that Jonathon needs to learn how to control his temper and not lash out and say really terrible things. He was not kicked out of the after school program and was able to stay inthe play. The girl involved was not in the play group. So that worked out for the best.
*THANK YOU FAVS and noters for leaving me such awesome, encouraging, understanding notes. I appreciated every last one of them. Thank you!
*Some other things I learned: Jon felt terrible. He started writing his OWN standards. I didn’t tell him to do it at all. He was humbled and didn’t freak out and scream at his punishments. This made me proud because for the first time, he took responsibility for what he had done. He did NOT know that what he said was that bad. His friends talk like that (little butts!) and he thought it was just something "mean and funny" … not crossing a line. It actually made me ease up on the punishment. He is not going to Raging Waters (that would have been today) and had extra chores (yard work)… but other than that, we have moved on. I also learned that the girl in question was a FIFTH GRADER. yeah, a girl two years older than him, at least, was picking on him. Jonathon is in 3rd grade. He’s 8 years old. She was at least 10. She needs to get over herself. I imagine she was just jealous… because *ahem* My son was AMAZING in his play. (She was telling him that he wasn’t good and was the worst in the play and needed to be replaced… for WEEKS, and he was trying to just ignore her until he couldn’t take it anymore and lashed out at her.)
I have some pics to post, but there is also video I hope to put up on Youtube. He was SO GOOD. He was one of the few kids you could actually hear and he was such a good little character. Like the part where the Tin Man is getting oiled? I wanted to cry, my baby was so good. I’m glad I didn’t pull him out of the play. It was amazing. That little girl can go shove it. I was hoping to see her dad and have him come at me so I could call him a jerk off who needs to stop raising a little bitch for a kid (cuz I’m just so far above being juvenile, lol)… but it didn’t happen.
HA.
I’m terrible.
So all of that is worked out and over with. God the drama.
*I spent most of my days off getting the infernal braids out of my hair. I always forget what a pain in the ass that part is. It took me the good part of two days. I’m amazed I still have hair, so much came out in the process. But my hair is still thick and gigantic. so yay!
*We went shopping. We got a pool (it’s a blow up pool and should be fun for a few weeks before something pops it, I know that’s what’s gonna happen! But it was only 20 bucks, so I can’t complain. I also got a MAGIC BULLET!!!! I am so excited.
I will tell you all about the wonderful things I make with it. I’m so excited.
*We went to lunch with Baboo’s family yesterday and then out to my dads for Father’s Day. It was a long day, but not bad. My poor dad is going crazy. When he came to see Jon in the play he was talking about this "dancing brazilian baby" video… yeah. It’s cute, but you’d have thought the kid was going to be doing something amazing. Ummmm, ok. Not so much. So yeah, he’s going insane. When we went to his house, he made us watch old Davy Crocket shows. I was falling asleep. He was in memory lane paradise. It was cute… but crazy.
I love my Daddy
*I lost 1.5 pounds. Yay!
*I’m under renovation. I hurt. I’m gross. boo!
*Lakers parade today (wahoo! Champions!)… but it was a complete mess on the train this morning. It wasn’t even 7 in the morning and there were at least a couple hundred people on the streets, and the train volume was up like 200%… insanity! I was squished against the wall! Some idiot stepped on my toe! I’m glad it’ll be over before I have to go home.
*Tomorrow marks… 2 weeks?… since I sent my story to the publisher. I haven’t heard anything. I wonder if I’ll find out after July 4? I had a dream last night that I got accepted and they sent me a contract in my email box. But the dream ended before I could open up the message and see what they said. then I had a dream about monsters and weird shit that made me wake up crying. Stupid dreams.
Anyway, I’ve calmed down about the whole thing, but it makes me sad. I wish I knew now!
*Nothing from the judge either. I got rejected a lot faster, so I’m hoping that since it’s taking longer, that means they are giving me an approval. I’ll be crushed if I get denied. I don’t know what to do if that happens… submit again with more documentation? I don’t know. I want this over with. I gotta a life to proceed on.
*did I mention I hurt? and that I’m gross? both are still true
*Guess I gotta get on with Monday… stuff. I have no idea what that is, I’ll figure it out though.
Oh yeah, and Happy First Day of Summer!
I always forget these "first day of the season" things.
so yeah.
wooooooo.

Yay! I am so glad things worked out. And what a little jerk that girl was!
Warning Comment
Older kids are usually picking on smaller kids. I think, had I been jonathan, that I might have actually said a bunch of shyte that would have made her STFU, but he is nicer then I am.

Hi! Damn glad to hear this good news!

Aww, Jon’s maturing a little bit. Sounds like progress!

Glad everything worked out with Jon! And yes, that WAS very mature of him! I’m impressed with how he handled it! He gets a thumbs up from me! 🙂 And, as usual, you’re more then welcome! 🙂 Hey, we’re like family here, remember that! Yeah. I’ve heard of the Magic Bullet. It’ll be interesting to hear about what you make with it! I’m not all that long finished my own renovations. I…tend to
Warning Comment
find it rather ironic that you’re on yours, and I’m finished mine, when it’s usually the other way around! Just about the time when you’re in the process of yours, and is nearing being on it’s way to finishing up, I then start mine! Hmmm. “Shrugs shoulders.” I guess it’s not so this time! Unless I missed something, I don’t know. Lol. Anyway hun, have a good day.

Oh, and for the record, for someone whose in 5th grade, she really should’ve known better! And, shame on her, for putting him down, and discouraging him like that! Glad he ignored it!
Warning Comment
Wow your kid is awesome, its great he started writing his own standards and in fact its a tribute to the awesome parenting! What do you mean by under renovation? It’s great that you lost weight! Plz send me some tips 🙂
Warning Comment
Thanks for your note! You’re right – we’re fine. I just needed some breathing space before I approached him.
Warning Comment
I’m so happy everything with your son worked out!

Wootness for a fair counselor, a good play, a damn good kid, and the pound and a half loss. Booness for bitchy lil’ girls and sucky monthly renovations. I want one of those lil’ blow-up pools. It would be awesomeness!
Warning Comment
I’m so glad he got to still be in the play. I think your boy is growing into a fine young man. 🙂 Congrats on the losing the weight. Keep it up girl. You can do it. I hope they get back with you on your stuff. Maybe this stuff just takes time. I’m sure they get a bunch of things to read all the time. Patience. They have to contact you at some point.

First day of winter for me! I feel like I have been missing out on so much. I need to keep up with OD! Glad things worked out with play etc, Jon is a good kid, and you are a great mom 🙂 x

I never doubted that he’s a great kid and you’re great momma!

I love the Magic Bullet infomercial. My favorite!! 1,2,3, SALSA!!! YAY! What a Bitchy McBitchface that chick is.
Warning Comment
i knew it couldn’t all be jon’s fault!
Warning Comment
That’s so awesome everything turned out okay with Jon! What a little brat that girl is. I remember elementary school just like that though… so much teasing with everyone. We had a blow-up pool when I was about your son’s ages, and it was a pretty god size– about 3 ft. deep maybe. We always used to stand on the sides and bounce off of them into the water. They’re pretty sturdy. I thinkours lasted all summer with rough play like that.
Warning Comment
hee. when you said magic bullet I thought of a little vibrator dildo – until you mentioned making stuff with it. I’m such a pervert.
