cleaning & adoption

lol yeah I know those subjects don’t really go together but that’s what I did today.

Malachai’s room was a horrible mess, she had stuff in places that I couldn’t even imagine how she got it there… under/behind the dresser..which is flat on the floor all around, no fancy designs on the bottom of the front with an opening to under it, and it was completely agains the wall LoL, it was like she would have had to move the dresser to get the stuff behind it and under it.. her desk drawers were full of ripped up paper and of course candy wrappers, which i expected a little bit, but not as much as i found.. she just stuffed it in her desk rather than throwing it away. She has one of those loft beds, where she has a desk, and dresser under her bed..pretty neat when it’s organized. We are going to paint her room this weekend while she’s at her gma’s..  She has written on her walls/door like any typical 5 year old… but it looks horrible…light pink with scribbles in marker/crayon/pencil/pen.. It didn’t take too long to clean it… but I swear I just cleaned it out a few weeks ago (without moving the dresser or checking the desk drawers)

So on to the adoption part of the title.. I’ve adopted another soldier through http://www.soldiersangels.com since John will be on his way home this month. There are still 809 soldiers waiting on adoption. If anyone is interested. (Like the subtle hint?)  The site only lets us adopt every 10 days, which I think is a bit much… I mean if you know you are going to adopt the max allowed, which is 3, why not let you all in the same day? It would probably help with the adoption #’s too. For one of my class assignments for public relations, my group used SA as our nonprofit that we represented… had to do a PR campaign … we got an A! but the point being is we figured out if they lessened the wait between adoptions and uped the max allowed, that they would have more adoptions per month and less soldiers waiting… but yanno was just a project… and I’ll wait the 10 days and adopt another 🙂 I don’t think I’m going to go for 3 this time around, got real hard to write the letters, felt like I was writing the same thing over and over and eventually ran out of things to say lol (which is odd for me)

other than that, I haven’t done a whole lot.. a bit of class work, which if you haven’t read my education flip flop entry, I’ve switched majors. I got burnt out with the business classes… and switched to psychology. I can’t wait until next semester.. I love the subject, think it’s facinating and I’ve even researched some jobs… with the VA of course (thanks Rach!) I do believe that is the direction I’m going to go when I finish the degree next year. Of course this means I will either have a heck of a daily drive or I will be moving out of here (which at times does’t sound like a bad idea) but who knows what I’ll be thinking next year. It’s only April and I’m already thinking of 2011… crazy

Finally got the kiddo settled down for bed.. she’s got playtime fever, but she won’t play by herself. Her BFF was grounded today after throwing a fit last night because she didn’t want to leave our house… Chai threw one too, and wasn’t allowed to have ne one over. Not that it stopped her from whining about not having ne one to play with and asking if the brats next door could come over. I know it’s harsh, but it’s the honest truth. The last time they were over, the oldest one shoved Chai down on the trampoline and laughed about it. I happened to be going outside to see if they were thirsty and saw it… made them go home too. So yesterday, I was taking pictures of Chai and Ally playing on the swingset through the window… so they wouldn’t pose lol. and i hear Chai telling her how BF & GF are supposed to act when they are naked.. my first thought was OMG did I hear that right… my second thought was WTF, where she’d hear that at. So of course I bring her in and ask her about it and she says the youngest brat next door told her about it. I told her that she was too young to be talking about that and that she wasn’t allowed to play with the next door girls. I don’t know what to do about this.. I don’t want to not let her play but I don’t want her to be told things she is way too young to understand. So I have a feeling this summer we are going to be spending a lot of time away from home… which is fine too…walks, bike rides, all the summer stuff … she’ll be happy with. I would say swimming, but there was an article in our local paper about the pool prices going up.. we normally buy a family pass, but they are increasing that as well (it was $120 last year for 6 passes).. so yeah don’t think we are going to do that if they increase the price.. just not worth it

now I have to get my rear busy with this anthropology class.. I’ve been dragging my feet with the assignments and I don’t know why. Maybe I’m just burnt out completly on school… but I’m going to make it through it, get the stuff done and move forward… I might write a bit more later after I finish my assignments… if it’s not too late… if not I’ll write in the morning… there’s been an update on the whole dad crap from last night.. but more on that later

(1/2) *Tag* Red one! heh I currently have a bachelor’s in Criminal Justice Admin, & currently I’m going after a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling which will lead to getting my LMHC. I’m still thinking, however, of dropping that and going after a doctorate in Public Admin…still considering which I actually want to do. Have a decent record lay counseling people, so…it’s logical.

(2/2) As for the future years, I really think it all depends on how well adjusted she is going into teenage years. If she’s had a relatively stable life & keeps good manners, she *should* have minimal attitude. *Should* comes with a set of caveats, mind you…lol…teenagers aren’t fit for public consumption anyway, so there ya go. 😉 BTW, online school’s great. Wouldn’t do it any other way.
