30th July 2013.
Work.
- Tiny bit of website maintenance
- Made one jumper
Dog walk.
- Leo posted the letters he’d helped stuff and put stamps on
- Picked raspberries
- Leo stomped in every muddy puddle on the way home
Food production.
- Cleaned out chickens
- Harvested mint
- Made mint sauce
- Started mint wine
- Made "chickpea-layer"
Housework.
- Weeded ragwort and put in cardboard box in fire-pit
CHICKPEA LAYER.
chickpeas, bacon, mince, onion, tin tomatoes, cheese, garlic, courgettes.
- Layer half the chickpeas in dish, top with cheese.
- fry bacon, layer over cheese
- gently fry sliced courgettes in bacon fat, layer over bacon
- fry mince, onion and garlic, layer over courgette
- pour tin of tomatoes over mince
- top with remaining chickpeas and more cheese.
- bake at 180 until brown.
… my verdict – well it tastes healthy and it’s very, very filling. Very low in carbs, very high in protein but it needs something – next time I think I shall mix the chickpeas with cheesy bechamel sauce.

RYN: Thanks for your note! I used to just go the gym, lift weights and run on the treadmill. For three months, I have been attending 4 different gym classes a week. One is a martial arts fitness, one is high intensity aerobics, one is a toning class and the other is a body step class. I’m really mixing it up but seeing nothing. Plus, eating clean, drinking water and watching carbs and protein 🙁

RYN: Does it? Quite the opposite was intended!
