pick up

i visited montreal last week. i want to transfer to mcgill. i visited with a friend who transferred from waterloo last year. our brains were separated at birth. we finish sentences and thoughts. we build on each other’s thoughts, spiralling into wonder. whether its an upward or downward spiral im not sure. it might not matter.

he was skydiving this summer. something ive always wanted to do since i was a kid. has almost enough hours to be an instructor. he was playing guitar in montreal and toronto clubs, even opened for snow patrol. hadnt spoken for six months or so. picked up as if not a day had passed.

i got lost in a completely new city and it felt like home.

he says he transferred mcgill to the social aspect. you listen to lectures and then go out for drinks and talk. learn just as much out as in. people dont do that here. they drink and they talk but it is vacuous. ipods. shirts. sales. bitching about classes. why bitch when you can leave?

Precisely. 🙂 Post-class drinks & discussion are the best. Sometimes my profs even come along, which is always nice since they usually buy. (But I’m not at McGill. :()

ryn: That’s nothing. I had an issue with a ‘select all’ button, and invited everyone I know to some stupid MSN page I don’t have — profs, ex-boyfriends, everyone… Talk about shame. 🙁
