this little light of mine

Clouds take the moon

Strike the stage and leave my night

Not a congress of stars

or a moon looking away

Leave my night dark

with only my own fire to burn

The night is cool after hard work

let my efforts light the night

It will be more brilliant

It will mean more to me

Maybe I’m not the star attraction

But my spot will burn brightly

The night will not forget me

and this little light of mine.
