Hip hop uplifted

What can i say…deep inside i am a hip hop head,
just to hear the beat flow like an eloquent bird flying through the air,
reaching each and every ear,
making each and every foot do that simplistic tap,
while your head begins to bop to the rhythim

To have an artist spit the illest lines they can spit,
to hear their words make sense,
to listen to what hip hop truly is,
no cars, no women, just true to the beginning art,
when words flowed and beats bumped,
when it was a reunion of minds,
instead of a battle of egos.

Its a religion to me,
a preacher with a mike looking to the crowd,
making the bounce up and down with the way he plays with his words.

I got to go to my friends hip hop show today and i was again blown away…i had forgotten the true essence of hip hop…the real mc who spits for the fun of it and the family that we are all supposed to be…one sound…one mike…one love…i was fortunate enough to get on stage and share it with him while he sang one of his songs…what can i say it was as if though a shot of adrenaline was given to me and i couldn’t get enough of it…to see the people clapping and bobbing their heads to his words…to my words…it was simply amazing. If there are any hip hop heads out there or if anyone enjoys music to begin with his myspace is http://www.myspace.com/dthought. check him out its a little different than what you are used to listening to…hope you all had a great day…

hey babe. this tutoring thing sux! glad to kno you had fun at migs’ show. wish i could have gone!! just one more year. as far as you being a hip hop head…cool. just no more fall out boy! love you bye!

That would be a great idea but everyone I work with is older then me and work different schedules then me. It sucks but there is no one for me to befriend in this town. I have Adam and we don’t have any of the same interests so doing things together is kind of difficult.

no cars, no women, just true to the beginning art – amen! i don’t even like hip hop (the occasional public enemy song here and there, though heh) but it still really irks me that all the music out there these days is just bitches and bling. bright eyes, on the other hand… ♥! [eek. but don’t tell anyone.] peace

Fantastic poem. I can really feel what you were feeling in that moment. Great use of rhythm.
