Leaving TS 2

…continued from Leaving TS 1

I returned to TS on August 2 to give some birthday wishes (to not arouse suspicion) and write my characters out of the RPs. The only idea I had was for my main character to die since I never wanted to return.  On August 10, Argael e-mailed me to revise my departure. She wrote that she and others were bothered by the "ridiculous" post filled with "nonsense" about my main character’s departure or death, and that I was not following what one of the founder’s characters said.  Have they ever heard of disobedient characters?  Argael also complained that death was hard for her to read because of a problem that almost killed her in the past. Then how does she read tragedies? Though she had supported and joined in the attacks for the spoiler, she dared to tell me, "You have done nothing wrong" and "I really like you and enjoy writing with you." Instead of admitting that she and others were being cliquey and only pairing their characters up for detailed love scenes, she blamed me for "not putting my characters into the action" and "making them hard to access" when no one interacted with my characters even when I had spoken to them. She also concluded that she hope TS would be a place for me to enjoy as it is for her. Well, the love scenes, cliques, and bias are not letting me enjoy TS. She had also pointed out that no one replied to the post, and I answered to the e-mail to inform her that I hadn’t expected anyone to reply, but was only trying to quickly get my characters out.

I certainly didn’t contradict or mention any of the problems since the TS members will not admit their mistakes, but come up with more excuses and accuse me for bringing up past mistakes and not letting them go. Fortunately, I was able to revise the departure post, and managed to write all my characters out of all TS RPs by August 27, 2005. TS members’ posts regarding my departures seemed abrupt, but then again, RL and my strong desire for exit had forced me to leave the RPs quickly. School was keeping me busy, and at TS, they just continued to write love scenes and don’t seem to have any more interaction between regular friends, except for a select few who were hardly around.

After writing my characters out, I checked in at times, fearing them thinking badly about me and talking behind my back. The founder soon announced that she was returning, making me suspect that she had left because of me since she decided to return after I left. Later, Adu and Argael’s spam thread was added, encouraging more cliquey behavior and showing that they dominated the place. The founder also began calling Adu "Princess" and Rhia "Firefly," showing that she favored them.

Though the founder said in July 2004 that I would be the first to be invited to TS, I wasn’t until October. The first day I entered, I saw that Rhia, then Adu, had been invited before I did. Another member had asked me to forward her character’s bio, and though I did, I saw that she thanked Adu for it. I also noticed that Adu had been somewhat like the main contact person between HoB members. She seems to know how to kiss up to people, and could do no wrong in their eyes.  One day, she posted about going to a party with RL friends, and was upset that they wouldn’t let her drink.  That should be a good thing.  At times, she also complained about her parents removing her internet access, especially when she had so much homework and tests, but spent her time on the internet. These are proof that she is improper, doesn’t take her classes seriously, and can’t sort our her priorities. Other TS members supported her, showing their bias and indecency. Argael herself also posted about her enjoyment of getting drunk at times.

I had been stupid to post an address and link to my online journal at TS and in my EZBoard profile. I also should not have posted my personal information at TS.  After the attack in July 2005, I began to remove all my information. I finally stopped visiting TS in January 2006, but on April 19, I received an e-mail about TS becoming public in a few days.  I realized that my birthday and contact information were still there, so I returned against my will to remove them. Then I replied to the e-mail, asking them to remove my forum and posts. The bad memories and pain resurfaced.

In June, I clicked on a link to TS to be taken to the Membership By Approval screen. I realized that they had lied about TS going public, and the description said that TS is a "friendly site." Yeah right! You call attacking me for a spoiler mistake and excluding my characters to write detailed love scenes friendly? I then discovered TS Crossing, which was an introduction board for TS. I wondered why Argael had told me that TS was going public when actually they were going to have a board introducing the place? To tell the truth, I didn’t care.

I do not want to be part of a cliquey, biased, and deceitful community that has declined and lost its purpose. It is just not a place for high morals and values. With so much to do in RL, I don’t need another source of stress, such as TS. The community’s members are really tale spinners. Tales could be another word for lies, and they spin many lies.

It sounds like you’re better off without them. You don’t need the drama.
