Junction of Fictional Series
This is a fictional article I submitted for TORC.
Combining Harry Potter, Star Wars, and The Lord of the Rings
Cooperation, not competition! Instead of rivaling against one another, the creators of three popular fictional series will collaborate on a new story, Harry Potter and the Star Lords of Darkness, with hope for the biggest hit ever.
George Lucas, along with J.K Rowling and Christopher Tolkien will write the new novel. Then Lucas will work with Chris Columbus, Peter Jackson, and their casts and crews to bring the story to big screen. The authors and movie producers will communicate to make sure that the movie remains faithful to the book.
"All three series are in competition right now, so we thought of combining them into one big story, and possibly series," said Jackson.
"We would also prefer a story where the book and movie could be almost identical, with very little change," added Lucas.
The story will be produced for people of all ages, and would include content from all three series. The authors and directors plan to have the three dark lords, Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter, Darth Vader from Star Wars, and Sauron from The Lord of the Rings meet and conquer the universe together. The Hogwarts students and staff, Jedi knights, Fellowship, and their friends will then join forces to fiol their evil plots.
"We are planning on a story that would not be too difficult for children, or boring for adults," said Rowling.
"I have edited my father’s works, and am ready to write a book," said Tolkien.
The writing of the book should begin in a few months as Rowling finishes Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Part V of her series, and Lucas begins Star Wars III. The movie production will begin after the novel is completed.
"I am excited to work with other movie directors on something different, a combination of different science fiction and fantasy materials," said Columbus. "We hope this will draw many audiences."
