A Weighty Issue

It’s hard to believe that only a little over 2 years ago, I was a little over 170 pounds. Now, that weight wasn’t perfect or ideal in any way, but it’s definitely better than where I am now… And where I was at my heaviest.

My weight began to add up just after starting the birth control shot. I added on pounds left and right, and before I knew it, I hit 200 pounds. Even after stopping the shot, I couldn’t seem to lose weight; I cut soda out of my diet, I tried eating healthier, but I was stuck and quickly gave up. Things kind of spiraled out of control after that, and I just didn’t care. Well, I cared, but I would look in the mirror, get disgusted, binge eat, and then want to throw it all up afterward. At my heaviest, I weighed 228 pounds.

Upon moving back out to Pennsylvania, my eating habits changed again. This time it was for the better, and I lost a pound here and a pound there, but when I started taking Effexor, that’s when I really started seeing results. My appetite has basically gone away at first, so I was barely eating. Now I know it’s not good to eat less than 1200 calories a day, so I’ve been doing my best to eat enough. It’s tough!

Now, I’m currently at 209. I’ve got a long way to go, but I’m a work in progress, and ultimately I just want to be healthy.
