04/29/2012 *Updated*

Been a rough weekend for me. Kayden’s memorial service was yesterday (hard to believe it has been a year already) and I couldn’t go because of a pointless (mandatory) supervisor’s meeting. But I did get to go to a little of the dinner afterwards (though all I had was a Mountain Dew) and spend some time with the family.

Mike did me a new tattoo, the previously mentioned one for Farley. My wife told me to get one that meant something to me, that was personal. I had her text me a picture of the ink print they took of Farley’s foot. She later tells me that it was a rather stupid idea for a tattoo and that it wasn’t "manly", that most guys would have gone with something more "badass". But I asked her what she thought before I had it inked and she didn’t say anything about it. When I got back home, she started with the anti-manly-man speech. I love her but I swear she’s the most fickle woman. After it is permanently ingrained into my skin is not the time to tell me you don’t like it. But I digress because I can feel my blood pressure rising. I’ve no regrets.

Other than that, my weekend sucked.

*Addendum*

I was going to make this a separate entry, but opted against it. Streamlining and all that.

Ink on the Soul

Pain in my arm
Reflects the pain in my soul.
Gone; never forgotten.
Those days, those anguishes.
Loss of love; loss of faith.
All still fresh wounds.
It’s not just about the physical loss,
It also reflects the state of mind.
Ink-filled scar to match the soul-scars.
If you only understood.

Personally I dont view that as ‘un-manly.’ As long as you have no regrets about it that’s all that matters. My boyfriend has two flowers tattooed on the inside of his left bicep (his mother and sisters fave flowers) and I don’t view that as something that is feminine.

I agree with under.a.night.sky,a tattoo is a tattoo no matter what it is. Everyone has different meanings for their tattoos. This could fall under the subject of “real men wear pink” category, because you aren’t afraid to show that you actually feel pain/loss.(just every other human being on this planet)Well either way, sorry you had a shitty weekend and hope things turn around for you at somepoint
