My heart aches within me
Wish I  could stop her pain
Wish I could hold her to me
Wish to begin again
 

Wonder how to help her
She knows not who I am
Wish I could embrace her
Show her I’m a friend

Anger builds inside me
Against the one she loves
Wish I could speak sharply
Stop what has begun
 

I cannot fix her heartache
I cannot make her strong
I cannot stop the renting
Of her heart again

I cannot show her how
To overcome this pain
She has to learn alone
How to live again
