Stop me if you’ve heard this one

Many years ago, we had a german shepard by the name of Shaggy. She was a pretty good dog and unlike some families, we allowed her to eat people food.

My children liked to eat cereal with TONS of milk, but they didn’t like to drink the milk afterwards. I don’t like sweet milk and not wanting to throw it away, we would set it down for the dog.

The dog had one simple rule regarding human food in dishes, if it’s on the table (coffee table, end table, basically anywhere but on the floor) she was NOT to eat it, but if it had been placed on the floor, it was hers.

One day, my son had made himself a bowl of cereal and as usual, didn’t drink the milk. As many young boys do, he left his bowl on the coffee table in the living room.  A short time later, I could hear a slurp, slurp, slurp of what sounded to me like dog drinking something.

I went into the living room to see the dog near the bowl on the coffee table and said, “Shaggy, what are you doing?” No sooner had I said these words, and that dog picked the bowl up with her teeth, set it on the floor, and began drinking the milk.

Sometimes I really miss that dog!

RYN: I think I understand what you mean about the male friend thing. Some things are more fun if you have a friend to share them with. The nice thing is, there’s still hope for both of us … we ain’t quite dead yet. 🙂 ~

Check your g-mail. 🙂 Some of their things are fairly expensive *cringe* but there are some cheaper things as well. Enjoy your tea-browsing! ~
