Indy Trip
This weekend’s trip to Indy was effin amazing. On Friday I drove myself to the airport. My flight left around noonish. I had a 3 hour layover in Detroit, then made it to Indy around 6:30pm. PD was there to pick me up 🙂 I was definitely glad to see him. We had about a 30 min drive to our hotel which was in Carmel, IN. I checked into my hotel room and then we met with Sarah and Kev for dinner. We went to a restaurant called Max and Erma’s which is awesome. They have one in Pittsburgh and I always loved going there when I lived there. It was nice to finally meet Sarah and Kevin and we had a nice dinner spending time chatting and getting to know one another. After dinner we went back to the hotel. I was pretty tired as I had not had much sleep the night before. I turned on the tv and we watched Pretty Woman while lounging in bed, before we went to sleep. The next morning PD wakes me up super early (8am is like unheard of for me to get up) and we met Sarah and Kevin for breakfast.
After breakfast we went to Hobb’s apartment to hang out for a little while with him and Jagge before the wedding. They are crazy!! Even though it was the first time we met I feel like I have known them both forever. We stayed there for a few hours before Hobb and Jagge had to leave to get ready for the wedding. PD, Sarah, Kevin, and I went back to the hotel. On the way back Sarah and I decided we needed to go get our hair done for the wedding so we asked at the desk where we could go. The concierge called around and got us appointments, so we went and got ourselves looking pretty.
The wedding was at 4:30 Saturday afternoon. It was so beautiful. Gal looked amazing. Her dress was absolutely gorgeous. She was trying so hard not to cry as she was walking down the aisle but was having a hard time with it lol. The ceremony was short and sweet. We went back to the hotel for a few minutes before the reception, which was held at the Ritz Charles, a very nice place. The room was very elegantly decorated. The food was excellent. The music selection was great. All in all I would say it was probably one of the nicest weddings I have been to. Everyone was so nice. We all had a wonderful time.
On Sunday, we met for breakfast again at the hotel. PD, Sarah and Kev had a long drive back to Canada so they wanted to leave early. They dropped me off at the airport on their way, which sucked because I got there at 10am but my flight didn’t leave until 5pm. So I sat around in the airport forever!!! Thank God I had my laptop and I watched a movie and played some WoW. I had another connecting flightin Detroit on the way home. My flight from Detroit to BWI was a bit delayed, so my layover ended up being 4 hours. Again thank god for my laptop. I think I arrived at BWI around 11:45pm. By the time I got to my car and waited in a long ass line to get out of the parking lot it was 12:30. I didn’t get home until 2am. i was so exhausted as I had been awake for 19 hours and traveling most of the day, which makes for a tiring day.
Then Monday it was back to the grind 🙁
But I had a wonderful weekend and I’m glad I went. I had missed PD soooooooo much. This whole long distance relationship thing is really hard. But I love him…so I will make sacrifices and compromises to make it work 🙂
I’m glad that you had a wonderfully fun weekend, but unfortunately we must all get back to reality when it’s time to come home OR when the weekend’s over. I know I’m not looking forward to Monday when I have to go back to class again. LOL
