A Short Entry

It is nearly impossible to type. My Stumpy has been with me pretty much all day. I’m thinking he is discovering how much fun it can be to relax on his Jamie’s lap. Daggy knew that joy and she guarded that privilege.

Today at the “Y” I erged “5’s” in I did 12,555 meters for my piece. I laid down for a nap after that workout and had Stumpy settle in on my chest just like Daggy used to do. We had about an hour nap together. It was so comforting having Stump with me I went with the flow and just relaxed. You have to know your priorities. I have one day left to erg at the “Y” to complete my holiday challenge. Tomorrow I plan to do a ½ marathon which is 21,027 meters. That should take me about an hour an a half to do and will bring my challenge total to over 300,000 meters. I’ll post my logbook page tomorrow showing the total meters rowed and money raised.

This will be the fifth holiday challenge at the Concept 2 site I’ve participated in. This challenge and sending out cards is about the bulk of what I do for the holidays anymore.

The little shopping I have done has been on-line. The thought of fighting the crowds and traffic was just too much for me. Amazon can be a real pain though. They want you to post your purchases to Facebook and other social media. I’m sorry; I don’t need to be sharing the brands of jock straps and underwear I just bought! It is bad enough now ads for those products follow me around the web!

A few weekends back I put together a nativity scene in my back yard. I had prints made up and used this for XMAS cards to my special friends. This trick worked out great in I had horrible cards I purchased at the Dirt Cheap store for .10¢ a pack. Some photo corner mounts allowed me to tastefully put this photo over the shoddy card picture!

Last Tuesday my Delaware Lackawanna Railroad whistle sign was delivered. Two iron bolts were rusted into place on this cast iron sign. Soaking those rusted bolts with liquid wrench and judicious tapping with my 22oz hammer loosened up those frozen bolts. I was inspired to add to my display.

Now baby Jesus has an aura: a cast iron one!

You do realize that you’ll be going to h-e double hockey sticks for this Xmas card. But then I suspect there’ll be a few people including myself that will meet you there. And yes, there are some things that are sacred, by god a mans underwear and jock straps are sacrosanct.
