Impressions

Well, it’s only been a few days and I’m already feeling uninspired.  Well, not so much uninspired but unmotivated.  I’ve got tons of stuff to talk about but I wait until the last minute and by the time I can write, I’m too tired.  Oops.  Anyway, only two weeks of school left.  I’m pretty excited!  I’m ready to see my pets again!  I’m ready to be in my big bed again.  I’m ready to eat home-cooked food again (just not as much of it as last time!).  I’m ready to relax!

I really, really had a good time with my roommates yesterday.  Good food.  Good movie.  Good company.  I mean, really, that’s all ya need.  Nothing too fancy or grand.  Sometimes the simple things in life are the best.  They make it worth it.  Just about.

So, in my nonfiction writing class, I quickly made judgments about the other students.  This one girl in particular struck me as completely obnoxious.  They was loud and overly talkative and I just knew she was going to be one of those loud-mouthed girls who would become an utter pain in my butt.  But, over the weeks, I realized she wasn’t annoying at all.  And now, I think she’s fantastic.  Sure, she does talk a lot and give her opinion on whatever we talk about but she doesn’t do it in an irritating way, if that makes any sense.  I love her choice of words and accent.  And what I like most about her is how real she is.  She just says what’s on her mind and doesn’t try to act smarter or better than anyone.

I realized that first impressions are wrong sometimes.  I thought she was really irritating but now I think she’s awesome.  I secretly want to be her friend but I almost don’t feel cool enough.  I’m not crushing on her or anything.  She’s older and married so she’s definitely off limits but being her friend would be pretty wicked awesome.  But that probably won’t happen and I’m not too worried about it because every time I make a friend in class, when the quarter is over, I never hear from them again.  I am pretty sure she would be just another faded friend.  So, I’ll just enjoy her for the four classes we have left and let that be it.
