Heart-Shaped Coffin

As far as resolutions go, I’m not doing very well.  Isn’t that typical?  The new year renews our motivation to change ourselves and it lasts approximately a week before we get burned out and burrow ourselves into our typical routine.  But, it’s not like I’ve given up or anything.

I’ve just taken a slow start.

I started exercising at the gym with the roommates again.  I wanted to work out three times a week and so far I’ve only done it once.  I also did the abdominal exercises from my leftover Power90 DVD, which I also planned on doing three times a week.  I suppose it’s better that I’ve done any type of exercise at all rather than sitting on my flat butt.  Sure, I am not where I want to be but I’m getting there slowly.  Hopefully I’ll work my way up to three (or more) times a week.

I also haven’t been meditating.

But I”ve been reading and writing daily!

Slow starts.  Baby steps.  I don’t feel bad at all.

But my abs are still sore.

While Morgann and I were watching the previews before Twilight, My Bloody Valentine 3D came on and I told her we should go see that, half joking.  She shook her head and said she wasn’t down with the scary stuff.  That’s cool.  I figured I would watch it with the guys or at least go by myself.  Well, she Facebooked me and asked if I wanted to go see it for real.  Heck yes I want to see it for real.  I picked her up yesterday and we went to the 7:00 showing ‘cause she couldn’t make it any other time.  I wasn’t too thrilled about that because I knew the theater would be packed, which it was.

We bought our tickets through a machine to avoid the massive lines and then when the movie employee tore off our ticket stubs, he gave us our spiffy 3D glasses.  Check them out:

I was expecting those lame paper glasses with the red and blue frames but Morgann said she had a pair that looked a lot like the ones we were given.

Sexy, eh?

We walked in and the entire theater was crawling with popcorn eating moviegoers.  We had to end up sitting close to the front close to the aisle.  I had to turn my head to the left to see the entire screen, which, by the end of the movie, left me with a sore neck.  The glasses also made my left eye tear up quite a bit.  It was weird but it’s all good.

The movie was great!  It was completely silly and had tons of nudity and gore and it was great gore too!  Had me flinching!  And of course, there was the 3D aspect which really cranked up the spooks!  There were countless boo scares, which are bad enough, but when the killer flung his pickaxe or when other objects or bodily fluids shot across the screen they really flew off the screen.  It really made my heart race ‘cause you know that nothing is actually coming through the screen but when a sharp object is being flung straight at you and it breaks the fourth wall, you react as if it is really hurdling toward you.  Good stuff!  Definitely recommend it to others.

This weekend is going to be busy.  Grocery shopping and laundry and tons of stuff to do for my classes.  I’m glad Monday is a holiday!  Hopefully it’ll give me a day to catch up on things.

ALSO.

Showbread released a DVD called “How Showbread Ruined my Life” and it’s a compilation of all the footage taken of the band throughout their years together, interviews, music videos, and tons of behind the scenes clips.  It’s two DVDs and I’ve already burned through them.  It’s a definite must for a diehard fan like myself!  Man, those guys beat the crap out of each other!  But all in good fun, of course.  I just wish Josh would have went into more detail about how he came about writing his songs and what his process is like.  I want to know how he creates his different projects.  Maybe that’ll be included in their next DVD.
