A Fun Little Game (Courtesy of Fenshae)
The game here is to list twelve characters, either RP or fictional, and answer the questions listed with those twelve characters in mind.
1. Jonas
2. Fish
3. Honoria
4. Kyle
5. Ishmael
6. Kearna
7. Bertram
8. Slate
9. Briar
10. Nathan
11. Spider
12. Ax
01)Who would make a better college professor, 6 or 11? What subjects would they teach?
~Through simple logic, it’s pretty obvious that Spider would be the better professor. Kearna has very limited patience, and the red tape of a university setting would send her into hysterical tantrums. Spider, on the other hand, simply ignores red tape until it becomes a problem, and then she cuts through it. Going by sheer ability, Spider again wins through her extensive knowledge and instinctive love of learning. Kearna knows two things: herself and cooking. That alone would qualify her for a culinary school, save the fact that she has so little patience, and would invariably make a student cry.
02) Do you think 2 is hot? How hot?
~If there were ever two words that shouldn’t be in a sentence in a particular manner, they were Fish and "hot." As possibly the most adorable werewolf ever created, Fish inspires absolutely no lust in anyone. (Even other werewolves.) Her endearing mannerisms and floppy ears earn her a place in the Kawaii Hall of Fame, but Playboy Bunny she is NOT.
03) 12 sends 8 on a mission. What is it, and does it succeed?
~Should Ax ever develop the balls to order Slate to do something, and have him actually obey, it would undoubtably have to involve Iris. There is no other possible motivation which would make the vampire listen. Ax could play on Slate’s daddy complex if it involved Iris, but other than that, Slate looks on Ax with something a shade above contempt.
04) What is or would be 9’s favorite book?
~Briar’s favorite book, oddly enough, is Jane Eyre. She loves the romance, the Gothicism, the little ghost story and the characters. It’s a time period she feels comfortable with, and she admits to having a bit of a crush on both Rochester AND Jane.
05) Would it make more sense for 2 to swear fealty to 6, or the other way around?
~Considering Kearna’s experience and Fish’s instinctive submission when a more confident shifter arrives, it would be Fish swearing to Kearna. As shifters tend to avoid the whole fealty issue, it probably wouldn’t come up. They have a respect and working relationship which Kearna boosts by feeding the skinny werewolf every chance she gets. Fish, for her part, sees Kearna as loud, scary and mean, but she’s defensive of her territory (which includes Fish) and makes great munchies.
06) For some reason, 5 is looking for a roommate. Should s/he share a studio apartment with 9 or with 10?
~*finishes laughing* Ishmael, for sheer survival instinct, would avoid Nathan like the plague. While Nathan is utterly dense and self-absorbed, he does have an uncanny instinct for Infernalists, and he’d spot all the cues which Briar would miss. Briar would suit Ishmael admirably, and he would find a way to use her abilities to his own advantage. She’s perceptive, but inexperienced in a lot of things, and Ishmael could ward away the ghosts which bother her, providing her a bit of peace. For that alone, she might protect his secret. (Unless she found out about the Iris thing.)
07) 2, 7 and 12 have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?
~Fish isn’t much of a talker, and if in homid, would spend the entire meal looking mournfully at food she’d have no idea how to eat. (Utensils and all that.) Bertram’s fatherly instincts would kick in, and he’d spend almost all of his time helping Fish while berating Ax for his stupidity. (Don’t ask about what; something would come up.) Ax would simultaneously try to teach Fish about forks (and fail horribly) and complain to Bertram about the lack of a love life he suffers. They would undoubtably go first to Kearna’s restaurant, and end the night at a Burger King, sitting on the sidewalk and watching the now-wolf Fish gulp down a number of Big Macs.
08) 3 challenges 10 to a duel. What happens?
~If Honoria ever had the compulsion to challenge Nathan to a duel, it would be a pretty good fight. Honoria is a superb fighter, especially with blades, and Nathan is rather lazy. He’d rather shoot than put effort into a swordfight. The first problem would be convincing Nathan that shooting one’s opponent is not kosher when they’ve challenged you to a sword fight. The other problem would be convincing Nathan to go through with it, as he views Honoria as a complete psycho and wouldn’t trust her near him with sharp objects for all the porn in the world.
09) If 1 stole 8’s most precious possession, how would s/he get it back?
~If Jonas ever stole anything, it would be with a DAMN good reason. That said, the only thing he could take other than one of the Rough Riders would be either Slate’s beloved Viper or the battered leather arm chair Kitty’s been trying to get rid of for decades. Slate would track his car down with the GPS tracker he installed and demand an explanation. If it was his arm chair, he would never suspect Jonas and would in fact spank Kitty until she confessed.
10) Suggest a title for a story in which 7 and 12 both attain what they most desire.
~Read any popular romance novel. ^_^
11) What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 and 1 to work together?
~(Don’t you mean HAVE used? *laughing*) To get Kyle and Jonas to work together, you would merely have to threaten a person they held dear. While Jonas doesn’t care for Brad, and Kyle’s not particularly fond of Iris, both men have been friends long enough that if the call for help came, they’d respond.
12) If 7 visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?
~I would undoubtably spend Saturday listening to Bertram’s stories with wide eyes and rapt attention
. Sunday might be a little tense, due to Bertram’s ever-alert paternal instincts which would make him repair things around the house and nudge me into house cleaning.
13) If you could command 3 to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be?
~While assassination is Honoria’s best skill, I would honestly ask her to teach me how to fight. She is a superb fighter with no definable style, which makes her exceptionally difficult to defend against. Having been raised by a vampire, she’s learned the weak points of almost every supernatural, and can take almost any human easily.
14) Does any one of your friends write or draw 11?
~Ironically enough, Fenshae helped me find the proper photograph for Spider’s web page. She has, in fact, drawn the lovable Bug.
15) If 2 had to choose sides between 4 and 5, which would it be?
~Fish would immediately be on Kyle’s side. She has an exceptional nose for Wyrm taint, and Ishmael as both vampire and Infernalist, reeks of the stuff. Fish is a terribly friendly werewolf until she scents that kind of taint. Then she’ll kill you. No…really.
16) What might 10 shout while charging into battle?
~Nathan doesn’t shout. Nathan yawns while drawing one of his guns.
17) If you chose a song to represent 8, which song would you choose?
~For Slate, I’d choose a number of Garth Brooks’ songs. However, Brooks & Dunn’s "Hard Working Man" really works for his life dealing with the Rough Riders and being, somehow, Brandenburg’s "ruler."
18) 1, 6, and 12 are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets to eat it?
~For one, Kearna only eats Chinese if she herself has cooked it. Had she been cajoled into actually attending an inferior eating place by Jonas, she would sit and scoff at everything. Jonas, not being particularly greedy, would let Ax have the scallion pancake.
19) What might be a good pick-up line for 2 to use on 10?
~"…woof?" *laughing at the thought of Fish trying to pick Nathan up for anything other than throwing*
20) What would 5 most likely be arrested for?
~Ishmael has an excellent relationship with the police in Brandenburg, and it’s highly unlikely he would be arrested at all. Having padded his charisma with considerable "donations," he has one of those sacrosanct domiciles the police avoid when undergoing missing persons or narcotics searches.
21) What is 6’s secret?
~Other than her tribe, Bubasti (which she keeps relatively quiet for survival reasons,) Kearna’s biggest secret is her desire for a steady, meaningful relationship. It’d kill her reputation if anyone knew she was honestly ready to settle down with a good mate.
22) If 11 and 9 were racing to a destination, who would get there first?
~That would be a pretty good draw if it was a foot race. Spider’s much heavier than Briar, (a pen is much heavier than Briar…) but has more stamina and body fat to draw off of. Briar’s quick, but tires easily and often carries a heavy backpack. Spider would probably come out first in that one, simply due to her superior stamina.
23) If you had to walk home through a bad neighbourhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 or 8?
~Bertram, while he is a large troll, is somewhat elderly. Late at night, he’d be at home reading to a herd of sleepy children. Slate, being a vampire, would be up and about, and would probably know most of the "bad seeds" in the neighborhood. He’d get me home quite safe, and probably introduce me to a number of people, therefore providing relationships that would make future escort unnecessary.
24) 1 and 9 reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4’s sinister secret organization. 11 volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that he/she is actually a spy for 4. Meanwhile, 4 has kidnapped 12 in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 5, they seek out 3 , who gives them what they need to complete their quest.
~Jonas and Briar wouldn’t have to reluctantly team up, as they like and admire each other’s strengths. Any secret organization Kyle ran would probably revolve around computers and porn, so it wouldn’t be too hard for them to deduce his master plan: to turn all women into Playboy Bunny clones and create a worldwide virtual reality network to enjoy them in. Spider, being Jonas and Briar’s friend, would be one of the first people they turned to for help. Kyle would have to use a form of mind technomagick on her to make her spy for him, probably with his friend Brad’s help. Kyle could kidnap Ax, and probably get his support for the evil scheme, simply because it involves naked women. Ishmael’s advice, considering it would benefit him to get Jonas and Briar away from him, would be sound. He would recommend Honoria through reputation, and remind Jonas that sometimes killing an evil dictator leads to peace. Honoria, knowing Kyle to be an abject coward, wouldn’t even have to kill him. She’d merely give him a purple nurple until he screamed and turned over the technology and Ax.
RYN: Would be more than happy to share. Trust me when I say I have had plenty! Been getting between a half-inch to an inch or more a day. Some storms are like laying under an open faucet and having that pour upon you. Madness! Enjoy this day. 🙂

*giggles manically* I love this thing 🙂 I should do one now that I’ve got changelings and such to draw from now, too. And….y’know, Ishmael and Briar sounds like a fun plot, actually.
