The Girl Who Got Away

I wish that you were the girl who got away
But still you stubbornly stay
I do my utmost to show you the door
But your eyes remain unmoved and glued to the floor

What will it take to get rid of you?
A restraining order just won’t do
You keep returning like a bad smell
The wicked witch trapping me in a bad spell

Why won’t you just take one of the many hints?
We’re in a condition far from mint
I don’t care if you’re a pro lifer, I’m ready to abort
Cut off the circulation to our listing life support.

Why do you stay? You can’t surely be enjoying it?
Even the Marquis De Sade wasn’t that much of a masochist
Do you hang around because you want me to ask you to stay?
Well, I’m sorry darling, but I wish that you would just go away
