Tomorrow Off! Cheers to our veterans.

  • Our two new entry doors are in! He needs to finish the front door, reset the back entry door, and install two screen doors and we are buttoned up for a long time.

Church Bible study tonight was on Psalms 15. I like The Message version, “Psalm 15

A David Psalm

1 God, who gets invited to dinner at your place?
How do we get on your guest list?

 2 "Walk straight,
      act right,
         tell the truth.

 3-4 "Don’t hurt your friend,
      don’t blame your neighbor;
         despise the despicable.

5 "Keep your word even when it costs you,
      make an honest living,
         never take a bribe.

   "You’ll never get
   blacklisted
   if you live like this."

I’m not crazy about this version’s translation of that last verse, but the rest is good.

This has been the most beautiful November week for delivering mail ever. Best ever by far. Just great weather.

  •

Tomorrow is Veterans Day. Thank God for all the sacrifices our soldiers have made and the benefits of liberty we all enjoy because of them.

  •

I hope to get a little more garage cleaning/organizing and yard work done tomorrow, along with lots of coffee time.

  •

The new Postmaster for Decatur is starting up all the “tough guy” nonsense again. SIGH. At least I am used to it. In fact, it may be amusing to watch.

  •

I talked to two guys at coffee today. When one mentioned having three sisters, I lamented for him about how he must have never gotten into the bathroom. Though just 10-15 years older than me, he said, “Nope, we didn’t have a bathroom.” Neither of the men had had an indoor bathroom until they moved out of their childhood home in their 20s. Imagine that.

  •

I think of Kathy and I as quite non-consumerists because we don’t have cable TV or air conditioning, but we do have a huge set of computers with kind of nice cable internet service.

  • Tomorrow.

My boss had three sisters and one bathroom, so when he grew up he built houses. With lots and lots of bathrooms. At least three, usually 4 or 5.

RYN You are welcome. I found it purely accidentally , so I was happy to see it also

No bathroom? It’s amazing, but there really still are backwoods back in those woods!

I have The Message version just to reference once in a while. I keep thinking I should try to read through it just for the fun of it. I know it’s not meant to be a good ‘study bible’ but more for people just getting into Scripture or having a hard time getting through reading. My brother & dad were alays complaining about the line to the bathroom or never getting into it. There was mom& us 3 daughters.

My boss just gave me a Message version of the New Testament. I’ve been reading it for pleasure before bed.
