Slow but steady weekend off
I’ve had a good week. Last weekend I got some stuff done. I hooked up my new printer. I got a bunch of new pics of the family printed out. For years I have put pictures of the kids on the stairway hall near the entrance to our living room. The pictures up there were old. Most of them were from 10 years or so ago. So, the excellent current pictures taken by my brother-in-law Steve are much nicer. He really captured us. Over my computer station I have a picture of the whole Malehorn clan that Steve took. It is beside the one he took 10 years ago of all of us at a restaurant in Charleston when we last had a big family reunion. The family is far-flung. Two live in Montana, 5 in PA, one in Wisconsin, and of course mine in Decatur/Champaign. Hopefully I will get good pictures of my Rapson side of the family when I got to Michigan this Summer.
Our 2003 Ford Focus hiccuped this week. It seemed to be leaking something underneath and was running rough. I took it in and they found no leak, but did change two engine mounts and a transmission mount. The changed the spark plugs and redid the entire exhaust. It is better, but still makes the KRUNKING SOUND when I turn. Oh well.
I went to Taylorville Friday and visited with two of the backbone members of the little church I preached at there for 18 months. It was nice to see both the 40ish divorcee and the now 94 year old senior member of the group. Helen, 94, is still living semi-independently. She was in completely sound mind and a very upbeat. He breathing is labored due to an extreme dowagers atherosclerosis condition.
I wish I’d gotten more done this weekend, but I feel good about the weekend off and am ready for a long week of mail on Monday.
don’t you mean osteoporosis? I’ll bet it was nice seeing old friends. And I hate when cars make awul noises! Hope you figure out what it is. I have a vague memory in the back of my head about a car that made a funny noise that you could FEEL in the steering wheel when you turned, but I can’t for the life of me remember what it was. Maybe it will come to me in my sleep.
