NoJoMo #30

Wowsers- I did it! I wrote managed to complete NoJoMo despite my apparent lack of journaling the past year (or two). Woot, woot!

I have been beyond busy this month! After all of the bs went down with the bakery business I decided to focus on my marketing skills again. Needless to say, I am now one HOT commodity! I am working with one realtor for 25% of all sale commissions and 10% of all rental commissions. Not shabby! If I can increase business tremendously, then I will go to a salary rate with her primary goal of me making pretty decent money for leading up her property management department. Sweet!

Since I started with her, one of my ‘friends,’ who I have done work for in the past and politely declined working for as a full-time employee, about a year ago, as I didn’t want a working relationship to infringe on our friendship, has asked me to start working for her part-time in January. Mainly marketing, book keeping, and collections. Sure!

In the short time I have been assisting realtor #1, her listings have already started to increase and I have formatted it so both her for sale listings and rental listings have feedback that is going back to the owners in terms of publications, viewings, leads, etc which has proven rather popular. Because of this, several realtors have approached me to see what I would charge just to re-vamp their marketing strategy. Most of them wanting me to start with facebook as I certainly know how to use the social networking sites as an accent to increasing business traffic.  It certainly helps that realtor #1 tells everyone that I am a marketing guru. Ha ha!!

Also, because of realtor #1, I have met a large time investor from the San Antonio region and he is discussing me working for him remotely in terms of marketing strategies.Shazam!

This girl knows how to market, yo!

Because of everything that is going on above, I am now studying for my realtor license so I can also show homes and discuss prices. Realtor #1 has offered to pay the cost associated with the realtors schooling and the testing and, in return, I need to agree to work with her for 6-12 months. She is an awesome lady so I have no qualms with this. I see this as an excellent opportunity and, considering how much I love homes, am VERY excited. Like…REALLY excited. There are no words to express how awesome this opportunity is to me.

On a side note, I have been working to get my student loan payments caught up and have been applying for scholarships yet again. If everything fairs well in January I have decided that I need to follow the one route that fate keeps encouraging me to travel- business and marketing. If not at Cameron, where I recently received my associates, then I am going to apply to an online school to continue my degree and score that Bacc in Business Management with a secondary major in marketing. M has been saying for years that I needed to not consider education or health/fitness but go with what I am naturally good at. I’m thinking this will benefit me with this real estate/marketing route and, for once, I think M will stand behind me as I pursue further education as it is a degree he believes in. He tends to start off strong in the support but, as he realizes the financial burden of college, wants me to quit after a semester. I’m want my degree so very badly and the stop, go, stop, go REALLY ticks me off. We don’t fight often, but we have had a few arguments over my education.

Anywho- step one is to just get past court in January and then go from there. It all depends on what occurs. Everyone around me seems to be optimistic, but i guess we’ll see. I still cry when discussing the matter, so I guess I can admit I’m a bit pessimistic. I can’t help it- when it comes to stuff like this, I tend to think the worst. My luck isn’t the greatest, as some of you know.

So yeah. I’ve been a bit busy.

good to keep busy with January issues coming up. I was just thinking today that if I wasn’t busy with school I would be very upset about other things! Hope December is good to you!
