people are crazy

Darkened the ink on this, per request by one of my "readers". let me know if it isn’t "dark" enough

I’m looking into flying over to GJ on Thursday, using some flight benefits from my middle daughter. still an expense but would save wear and tear on me and the car.; also avoiding worry about the winter roads over the divide this time of year. I’ll rent a car once over there, as dad’s car is gone. Figure I can buy some quick turkey stuff in store that am. will fly back on sat, I hope. depends on stand by situation.

Wendy, middle daughter, has re connected with a childhood friend. his mother is my best friend. we met in collage about 40 years ago. we stayed in touch by writing letters (a lost art in this day an age) and then when she had 4 kids and I had 3; we ended up in same small town. this is were our kids met. after a few years we moved to Alaska and a year later they also moved else where. (In my marriage we moved about every 3 years) after my divorce I returned to Colorado with my girls, and later my son moved down with his sons also. I reconnected with my good friend about 5 or 6 years ago. she was going though a divorce. the past 3 years we email, face book and as she lives in GJ now, I do get to see her now and then. she is still my best friend. Wendy was Bo’s first girlfriend and first kiss, and visa versa. so here they are 30 years later. had a nice dinner and reconnected. they are both single, and now text message back and forth–a lot. will be interesting to see how this turns out. they both love horses, which is a plus (having things in common–aside from a few years of their childhood).

my tooth is better, still feels like a lump in my mouth, and my inner lip is healing. still tender. my boss says the reason our clients get the pain killers is cause they beg more. ah well, life moves on. pain is natures way of tell me I’m still alive…..

face book sent me an apology (along with lots of other folks apparently. they had a "bug" that kicked myself and others out for at time.

on the letter writing– lost art. I was thinking this am before I even logged on here. I need to send out some long letters, just cause folks don’t do that. they must be collectible by now! who saves letters? well, I did, a few that meant something to me. bet there are some kool letters out there, but how would anyone collect them? would make an interesting book… letters.. what folks say to each other from long distance’s…. oh wait, that’s what this is, isn’t it well in a way. a diary is a letter–mostly to myself. Did any one else remember, or maybe still get, those Christmas letters from friends and relatives. those long generic catching you up on the past year events letters? I used to hate them. as they were always impersonal, and usually bragging on what their family did, accomplished each year. Now a days you get email Christmas cards, times are changing….but as my favorite saying goes: (from a country and western song: "God is great, beer is good and … people are crazy"

well stay warm everyone

It’s great that you have managed to stay in touch so long with your best friend. I kept letters when we first emigrated. I have all those that were sent to me, as well as all the ones I sent to Mum and Dad. Nearly 30 years old now, some of them.
