friday finally
4th of July weekend coming up. but the fire danger is so high that all fireworks are banned. course that doesn’t stop the idiots.
my daughter and grand daughter are in for a few weeks visit, arrive Sunday. Tues we drive over to my dads for a short visit there. I’m delighted to have her around for 3 weeks. and still have fingers and toes crossed on the jobs that will bring them back here permanently.
my middle daughter (who lives with me) got a new dog. her min pin (a small dog) died after 15 years about 4 months ago. she decided to get a larger dog, and researched many breeds, finally decided on a standard poodle. then found out they cost 900 to 1000 dollars each. so she looked for ads for free ones, adult dogs… had some interesting experiences– puppy scams, from folks in tim buck 2 offering to ship her a dog, just send us "rehomeing fees and costs" first. she researched that on line and found it labeled SCAM all over the Internet. she found one dog but the owners were so particular they wanted control of the dog after she got it… eventually she got a response from a woman, who was looking for some thing else and just ran across her ad. she offered Wendy a standard female poodle (about 5 years old) who has been in her home a year. she is a dog catcher. this dog was running loose out by the airport (prairie type terrain) for 3 years! everyone had tried to catch her. one man was setting out food for her, but still she was loose in all weather snow, hail, heat, with coyotes, etc for 3 years. the dog catcher didn’t want to give her up to the pound once she was caught, as they would just kill her for lack of social skills. so she kept her. and gave her to Wendy a year later. she is a pari colored –silver and white– shaved close very reserved lady. who watches everything, but is sweet tempered, no growl or bite, housebroken. and likes to be with people. she is now called Kalanie which means sky, and royal one.
at work I am getting a lot of folks who are dealing with grief issues, some really sad losses there. and only so much one can do but listen.
my general doc sent me to heart specialist as I have an odd beat in my heart, the specialist said its nothing to worry about (basically) a lot of folks have it. just avoid stress…. I laughed.
hugs to you all, enjoy America’s independence day (4th of July) a day of hot dogs, and fire crackers. 🙂
It was like God sent you over to my diary. Your words are very kind 🙂 We know that we’ll get her back but they really had no reason to take her in the first place and that on it’s own is hard. We got to visit with her yesterday and my heart broke more and more with each passing second. If you go through my diary you’ll see pictures of her, she’s too great of a kid to deserve something like this. She’s so very confused and lost and I have no idea how on earth to help fix that other than bringing her things that will remind her of home…. until she has to leave. She young and just flat out does not understand why she can’t be with mommy and daddy and I don’t even know how to explain it to her. All she saw was mommy crying and she got torn away, there are plenty of other women who beat their kids and if I cry in front of mine I lose her. Like I’ve said, it doesn’t make sense. I hope all is well with you, I will add you to my favorites and work on catching up on your entries to get a glimpse of who you are. With love, Laura

about all you can do for someone with grief issues is to listen to them. that’s all they want anyway. poodles are very smart dogs. not sure what we’re doing on the 4th… maybe a bbq. no fireworks though. take care,
