fall and changes
yesterday I spent getting re orientated to my life here in Colorado. I got my phone charger cord changed out, as last one wasn’t working much. Got a box returned, sent off the letters candy needed sent before we left, got gas in the car, groceries for the week, etc. little things that make up a daily routine in a daily life.
back to work this am, so back to that routine too. I am slightly bummed when I consider not being able to afford to retire when I hit 66. (in 2 years) like so many folks, I just can’t afford too. but things change over time, who knows what future holds. I will be like the animals and just not worry about it. take it day by day.
Wendy came home with a new kitten last night. it is cute. about 6 weeks old, which I think is too young. but he is eating on own, and using litter box. the other cats are considering if they like him…
we still have to fly Candy’s big cat out to her, traveling with her for 4 days was not an option! Wendy will fly with the cat sometime in future, as she still has flight benefits from frontier. and oh by the way for those who watched the tv show undercover boss and caught the frontier boss episode. all lies. although he said he would give the 10 percent back to his workers, he retracted that to the workers, saying I only said I would "recommend it". for a man who made it a point to be presented to the world on the tv show as "Christian" he is remarkably selfish and doesn’t care about anything but his own bottom line. just my thought on the whole episode
Wendy also hit me with the fact that she applied for a position in Arizona, pays more. I’m a bit bummed about that. but she hasn’t gotten the job and she is looking for a different job in this area too. life keeps changing.
such is life.
just for the record, we didn’t use U-haul on the trip as Candy had used them a month or so before to move something somewhere, and got nothing but flack and trouble from them. its a long story with result that we will NEVER use them again. If they had been the company we used on the trip we would still be in Kansas….
and yes, I=70 must be the flat route. its really not so bad, I found the rows of trees in the south a lot more boring… but that’s just me. I did recall thinking as I drove though that I could life in Kansas. I understand the Midwest, and the west. the east. and the south not so much. well will see where life takes us.. its a journey.
its snowing in high country, passes closed. froze here last night. winter is peeking in on us…
You owe it to yourself to take another look at that retirement. There are many expenses associated with work that will disappear. I couldn’t “afford” to retire either, but I was damned, if I was going to work more than 47 years. SInce 2004, I’ve gone around the world, seen all of Canada’s provinces and two territories and more states than I can count right now. DOes it pinch? Hell yes, but I have managed to survive. So will you. Be well, my friend.

I’m not sure I could live in Colorado. Kansas is too cold for me. I’m thinking south!
