How Do We Do It?
I went and had dinner with my husband tonight. More like, I went to the drive through at Jack in the Box and picked up food for us and the kids. I joked to him that after gorging myself on tacos, I was going to go home and eat cookie dough. And now here I sit trying desperately not to go reach into the refrigerator and get some. Seriously. I can almost here it calling my name.
Anyway, our weekend was pretty good. Friday we drove around and tried to find apartments that we could potentially afford in decent areas in good relation to the potential new job. The hunt was fun, but pretty unsuccessful. There just seems to be no such thing as affordable and a decent neighborhood. After looking, we went to Target and got provisions for our beach day.
And the beach day was awesome. In fact it was pretty perfect. I spent a lot of time on the sand watching Scott play in the water, and Salem in the shore. If possible I fell in love with my entire family all over again. Watching Scott dive into waves and jump around in the wash made me feel things for him I never have before. He just looked so happy and it made me long to know him as a child. I’m really glad he had fun. My brother Corey also went with us and it was nice to see him out and having fun as well. We had played Wiffle Ball together and it was a blast! I haven’t hit a ball in a good 7 years and it felt really good. Salem made contact a few times and I think if we played with her enough she could really do good. She hit one ball just as far as her fad could! No one got sunburnt and there was no bickering, just a lot of relaxing and laughing. Buying the two person tent was perfect because Ian absolutely loved it. The first time we crawled into it he laughed for a good 5 minutes at nothing, just the idea of having a place to roam in. He was pretty enthralled with the sand too, which was cute because at the park he seems freaked out by it. We can’t wait to go back, but are thinking of trying out another rural beach in 2 weekends that has tide pools and ocean caves.
That is Scott, Salem and Corey going down to collect water for the sand castle, that never got built.
The view from my blanket.
This gives an idea how high the bluffs are that we had to hike down to get to the sand.
This was when we first got in the tent. I am literally laughing in this picture because of how Ian was laughing.
Salem said she was going to make a rock collection instead of her normal shell collection, but we had to tell her that it would have been too heavy to hike up the bluffs with.
He loves balls so I just had to buy him a special one for our day.
Salem and I hiked up to the top by ourselves to use the restroom and I needed to get this shot of us together at the top.
All 3 of these pictures were taken back to back. I love all of them and couldn’t decide which one to post, so I did them all.
Daddy and Uncle Corey buried Salem in the sand.
We were just being silly. Salem’s head is in the corner sticking out of the sand.
With my lover warm on the sand.
Playing on and around Daddy.
Salem was so dirty with sand we couldn’t tell if she was tan our covered in dirt. She loves digging.
I have nothing to say about this picture other than I love it.
Ian stole my glasses! My brother did a really good job capturing the moment.
Sunday we spent the day looking at more apartments. The results were better, but still not great because we can’t seem to agree on anything. It’s ok though. It’s not as if we absolutely need to move and I think after more discussion last night, we decided we will not be moving. Who knows. Honestly the whole thing confuses me more than it helps me, so we’ll cross the bridge when we get to it I guess.
Scott’s interview went great this morning! Scott said that half way through the interview, the guy told him that he wants to hire him and spent the rest of the interview telling him about the position and the company. They are a nationwide company, and their corporate headquarters are in Georgia. Scott had his first interview over the phone with someone at the corporate office. She passed on her approval and so Scott met with who would be his boss at the location here in California. He has to have one more interview even though the decision has already been made, which is a face to face interview with someone from Corporate. He told Scott that there will be someone in the office next week, and the following, and depending on their schedules and what he can push through, he might just do a Skype interview with him. We are really excited!!!!!
Salem had a great day at swim class today. She swam across the pool by herself for the first time, and she also jumped into the pool and swam a short distance to her instructor. I was one super proud momma! I just need to make sure that I take pictures before this week is over.

n is 10 months old tomorrow, and we are having the ultrasound done. I’m amazed by him. This morning he outsmarted me twice, and moved pages on my iPhone with one finger much like Scott and myself do. That means he is watching us!
Ok, cookie dough time.
These are such gorgeous family pictures….and WHOA, look how smokin’ hot you are in that swimsuit!!

How exciting about the job!!!! Sure sounds like you’re going to be able to hunt for a new place very soon, and for real! :)))))) Love the pics, and what a beautiful spot you guys found to spend time at! When my family lived in California, those were the kind of beaches my parents took us to. I remember exploring the wave pools…and loving it! I really like your hair in these, and your kids are just too sweet! 🙂 You have a great day my friend! *HUGS*
