not myself*

wow, it has been one crazy couple of months with getting engaged and moving and starting my senior year in college.  It doesn’t seem like I have been in college for 3 years already. I can’t wait until it is over!!!  I have been reading and leaving notes as much as I can on here, but then I sit down to write and either I don’t have any motivation or I don’t feel like what I have to say is the least bit interesting to anyone.  I guess that I need to start writing more religiously because I have a lot to say and it has to go somewhere right?

Anyway, on to more exciting details.

Josh and I are engaged, obivously. So, I guess you want to know how it happened, huh?  Well from the beginning I guess.  Josh was gone all summer as stated in previous entries.  He got back on the 17th of July.  I requested to work that day because I didn’t want to sit and wait around thinking "omg hes coming home, omg he’s coming home".  So I worked in the morning as a server.  There was this absolutely horrid group in the hotel and I just couldn’t wait to get out, so I was going to leave early so that I could get home and get ready for Josh’s arrival.  They drink about a whole lemon in one glass of water. So, me being the nice person that i gathered about 20 lemons and was slicing them for the rest of the lunch staff and for the dinner shift. As, I was cutting these o-so-juicy lemons, the knife slipped and sliced my finger.  I got Danae in the bar and showed her the deep cut I had just received.  She went back to the kitchen with me to get band-aids and take care of it.  Then one of the chefs wanted to help so he was looking for stuff.  My boss then comes in and rushes me to the HR (human resources) director, Kelly.  She takes me in the bathroom and tries for 15 minutes to get the bleeding to stop just to get a band-aid on it.  After that I was pretty much useless, so I went home.  I got home and the band-aids were completely soaked through with blood.  My mom made me go to the hospital and get it looked at.  I ended up sitting in the waiting room for 3 hours waiting to get stitches!!! (Josh was set to arrive at 8, I got home at 6ish).  I rushed home and got showered and prettied up.  I got my stuff packed for his mom’s house and was out the door to the airport.
I can still remember getting there and waiting by security for him.  I saw people coming through the exit and was getting anxious because I knew he was coming soon.  I finally saw him and my heart started to beat uncontrollably.  He rushed toward me and wrapped his arms tightly around me and I started to cry.  I almost forgot what it felt like to be held and loved like that.
I showed him my stitches and of course he laughed at me.  We got his luggage and headed back to his moms.  It felt so good to sleep next to him again.

We woke up the next day and had plans to go to this creek in the southtowns where we had our first date.  We get there and see signs up for Indian Reservations, so we weren’t sure if we were allowed to go down there, so we left.  We got back to the car and Josh told me that we needed to talk.  I told him that "I didn’t want to fight and I just wanted to go home".  He just kind of stared at me blankly.  He asked "Do you know why I wanted to bring you here?" I said "no" and just stared at him.  He said "Because it was the first place I fell in love with you and it was the place where I wanted to ask you…" He paused and reached for his pocket and pulled out a little black box.  I started to bawl.  I couldn’t even contain myself.  He asked me those words that every girl can’t wait to hear, "Will you marry me?" I don’t even know if I answered him because I was crying so hard.  (remember how I cut my finger?? ohh that was on my left ring finger!!!) I started ripping the bandages off because he couldn’t get the ring on my finger.  I was so stunned and happy.
We headed home and as soon as I got cell phone service I called work because my sister was working.  I asked Rene (who answered the phone) if I could talk to my sister.  She got on the phone and I asked her "can I ask you a question?" She said yes, and I asked her if she would be my maid of honor.  She paused and asked" are you serious?!" "Can I tell everyone".  Of course I said yes and I could hear the girls in the background being excited! It was a great moment.  She told me I had to come into work.  So, I got back to work and Josh and I showered and headed to Grand Island.  We went and showed everyone at work, his family and then we went to tell my family.  His mom, Rick, and his dad all knew.  I couldn’t believe it happened!
We had a lot of indecision with the date.  First we wanted it to be July 18, 2009 (2 years from the date we got engaged), then we decided that was going to be too hot, so April 25th it was.  We realized that April was going to be way to wet.  So, the date is and will be definately, is September 13th, 2008.  It is soon but we want to make sure that we are still in the state while planning our wedding, instead of living away and planning it from there.  I will be finishing my internship in August and then the wedding will be in September and then we can move for Josh’s job if need be.

I have a lot of ideas and a lot of plans, so I will keep you updated.  If anyone has any ideas for any aspect of the wedding, just note me. Its a fall wedding with the colors being red, orange, brown, and yellow.  Classic color of  changing leaves : ).  I accept all help because I have no idea where to begin.

Josh and I moved into our apartment at school in August. Its great, I love it, I love him, and I love living with him.  It can get hard sometimes because I am who I am and he is who he is.  What I mean is, I am a very neat, clean organized person.  Josh just isn’t.  So there are times when I am constantly cleaning up after him.  His dishes, his clothes, his garbage, everything.  We have 2 baskets for dirty clothes in out apartment. It is not very big, so there isn’t much distance to reach one.  He will undress to get in the shower and leave his clothes on the floor in the bathroom right next to the hamper.  "Um, hello, its right there, how lazy are you?!"  That is a big pet peeve of mine.  I’ll ask him to do one thing for me like wash up the dishes or clean up his crap, and he’ll tell me that hes got it handled and he will take care of it before I get home from class.  I get home, and everything is still sitting in the same place it was when I left.  So, I pick everything up and do the dishes, and he tells me that he was going to do that, and I asked him the all important question "When?" I don’t want that crap sitting around for days and stinking up the joint.  Im trying so hard to "train" him a little, but he just isn’t having it.

Classes are going ok, mostly boring and repetitive, but oh well. there is not much that I can do.  I am aiming for that 4.0 this semester and I am kinda hoping that since most of them are easy that I will do ok.

I have Josh help me upload some pics of my ring tonight, I don’t know how to do it with his new camera.  Then I will get some up here for you guys to oogle at lol

Well I think thats all for now folks!! Happy Monday to you all

edit: I updated my first page, go take a gander
