lazy saturday

I love the weekends.  Just because I can slow down and enjoy a day with nothing to do.

Last night Josh and I made Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches that mm mm good and watched the Sabres game which was very depressing.  I also talked to Jenn for a while about wedding stuff.  After the game we watched Las Vegas and went to bed.

This morning Josh got up super early to go band hawks with a group of wildlifers.  He loves it and it looks good on a resume, so go at it.  He left at like 6:45.  I, of course rolled over and went back to sleep.  Actually, this apartment is kinda creepy in the dark alone. My mind started playing tricks on me and I kept hearing things, so I turned the tv on for background noise and flipped around until I found something other than infomercials.  I found a station and it was an Alfred Hitchcock Saturday. I was so excited. I am a big Alfred Hitchcock fan. One of my favorite movies, Rope, was on. Its about 2 friends that kill one of their other friends to prove that they could pull off a perfect murder. They then put this guys body into a trunk.  (He was strangled with a rope, hence the name).  Later that night they held a party and served the food on the truck of which this kid’s body laid.  They invited this kids parents and girlfriend. They also invited their head master from their prep school, Rupert, who is played by James Stewart (he is in a lot of Hitchcock movies).  The one guy who committed murder was really worried about Rupert because he said that if anyone who could figure out what they did, it would be him. Long story short, its a good movie, but I’m not going to tell you the end b/c I don’t want to ruin it if you decide to watch it.

Anyway, so I put the tv on and fell back asleep.  I woke up around 10 and had some toast and hot chocolate for breakfast and watched ghost whisperer from last night.  My dad was actually the one who got me into this show. I really like it. It is definately a show that gives me the creeps most of the time.  Last night’s episode was hands down the creepiest episode I have ever seen!

I got out of bed around 12 because I had to watch Rachael Ray.  I threw a load of laundry in because there is mound about as high as Mt. Everest in the bathroom.  It’s been over a week since I have done laundry.. bad Rachel.  Josh was craving rice krispie treats so last night while we were shopping to pick of stuff for dinner we picked up the ingredients. I threw those together quick while fighting off a spider with non-stick cooking spray.

I took a nice long shower and then worked on some homework.  Josh made me some dinner and we started to watch the game which is pissing me off b/c the ref’s are just gift-wrapping this game for Montreal.  They are a disgrace to the NHL.  I made some chocolate chip granola bars that are YUM-O!!

Now, here I am watching the tail end of the game hoping for a goal to take us to overtime.

Just thought I wold update quickly.  Hope everyone’s weekend is going swimminly. :~)

and the weekend is ruined b/c the Sabres just lost again….where have they been? I can’t believe this. What happened to the Sabres from last season?? This is so depressing.

RYN: For words of wisdom…hmmm. I think the best thing I did was have the rehearsal on Thursday and I refused to plan anymore from that point on. I just got into the wedding spirit. On the wedding day, I saw my groom before and it worked out so well for us. I’m so nervous all the time that it made me calm and looking at post-wedding photos, I’m still so radient, even more than the before shots.

Also, if you choose to have outdoor photos, try to find a location that won’t have 1000 other brides and a wedding in progress. You can share a site with other brides but not a wedding itself. Also, make sure your limo driver has directions. Mine called in advance so they could mapquest everything and then in the limo he wanted directions and yelled at us when he made a wrong turn.

For the reception, if you want open seating, you must do this. Take 10% of the guests you have (I had 180, so 18) and add that many extra chairs to the site. If you do assigned seating, you can do with the exact number with some extra hidden chairs. Set your RSVP date 2-3 weeks before the reception hall needs final counts, not just before your wedding.

Most important, don’t get upset if something doesn’t go quite right on the big day. We had a lot of major freakouts during the wedding week and I freaked out before. But on the wedding day I thought about the big picture and just was glad for what I had. Have someone bring a Tide-to-go pen. And bring water with you all day. Dresses are hot, you will need to cool off a lot. Good luck to you!
