Nothing At All – Why?

Presenting, the event of a lifetime!
Welcome to your crossroads; the crosshairs I have you in.
You are welcome and scorned at once, the duality of our human layers
creeping into our psyche, confusing you-
blacking out your eyes.
Why so detached? Is it too much for one simple organism?
One abnormally large monkey?
One beautiful child of the light?
A child even of God?
The pictures and myths will spin about you, but only you know your secret truth
that feeling, that unmistakable knowing.

Sit down. You are tired and pale. Blue with overtones of age.
Soon you will be gone, as will I. After a generation or so leaves
no one will recall that we lived. Life is short and unmemorable in this place.

But if it matters- or even if it doesn’t – I will remember you.
Until I can’t think anymore I will be here
twisting apart in my own colors,
remembering everything until my brain shuts down
and I can know true ignorance and be submerged in bliss.
