Finally Made the Stanza into a Poesy
We once were one and now are two
You continue with work and I stay at school
I must admit; I feel a fool
For trying to stay so close to you
Forgiving you for the words that were cruel
While trying to do all that mothers do
I felt my heart melt and begin to pool.
I had nowhere near the strength I needed
To keep house and homework up to par
Rest was a dream and dreams were stars
For which I asked, but ne’er pleaded
Every time I reached, it was too far
So each day came and went unheeded
Until the day I packed my car.
And now you are off somewhere I don’t know
And I am here where you can’t watch me
To snuggle down for a night of movies
While you are bathed in computer glow
Why is it now, all that I want is to be
Sitting with you, at that first picture show?
So although your stance might announce ignore,
And you seem one thousand leagues away,
I know it takes but one lone day
To heal my wounds and aching core.
Here shall I make my nest to stay,
Starving for the other shore.
Be not so distanced from me, I implore.
