Why I Like The Brits

They make Dr. Who.  They gave us John Wyndham, who wrote Day of the Triffids.  They give us alternate ways of spelling lovely words, such as colour.  As well as alternate pronunciations.

But today, I like them for a new reason

This is the a*hole and his daughter that actually picket the funerals of US servicemen with signs reading "God Hates Fags" and crap like that.  The UK has not even let them into the country.  Now, if only the US wouldn’t let them back in either — maybe United Airlines could just drop them off in the middle of the Atlantic…

Short status update:  The HR lady here at work is being an absolute gem about my upcoming transition.  They’re working on a corporate policy, and she’s setting up meetings with the HR-benefits folks, so I can make my case about covering trans medical expenses. 

Our conference here went fine, despite my predictions of doom and gloom.  Sweety and I are heading up to a sister group’s "miniconference" in mid March – they’re in Harrisburg, PA, and they’re called TransCentraPA.  They’re neat folks – drop by if you have a chance.
