Support Jonathan
Helen Boyd posted today about this young person, and I looked up the local TV station’s news report. It’s about a high school student, a male, who was forced to drop out because he wears girl’s clothes. His classmates are rising up in support of him.
You can see it here:

Sorry, I forgot how to embed the actual video link in the OD page. well, it’ll work.
There is a Facebook group started by Jonathan’s classmates at that new school!! If you’re on Facebook, either look up the group/cause "Support Jonathan", or look me up on Facebook (Judith Bienvenu) and you can follow the links to the support group from my page.
These folks are in Kenesaw, Georgia. It’s a bit northwest of Atlanta, if I remember my Civil War history.
In other news:
I got the court order for my legal name change yesterday. From when I first sent in papers, that’s an elapsed 2 months (minus 2 days). It was supposed to take 3 weeks.
Nonetheless, I got the court order. Went straight to DMV (Dept of Motor Vehicles) and signed up for a new license, which will mailed to me. Then, this morning, went to Social Security, did that song and dance, and a new card in the new name is on its way as well. then to the bank, changed the names on the accounts, and got new ATM cards. Have been busy tonite changing names on credit cards, and will call a variety of folks tomorrow (utilities, etc).
Other than all of that, it’s just been work. Oh, well, there was that week long party in Atlanta (previous entry, I think).
and a wonderful life with my Sweety… 😉 mwah.

That’s so wonderful of him to stand up for himself! I can’t believe the school would take such a stance, especially after indicating it would be no problem! ryn: We found a confrence we’re very excited about! It’s in Port Angeles and they’ve got programs/classes for couples which we’re very excited about. It’s a week long in May and it just can’t get here soon enough! Thank you for the kind note on the pictures 🙂

As a gay male I always thought I had it pretty bad. But I’ve never had to endure the malicious attacks that you transgender people have to suffer. Of course, this is the United States of Hypocrisy, land of the Straight Free.
