First Day Back in the Office

I’m in the office for the first time since Aug 10 or so (before FFS). First day in the office as Jude. Security took a new picture, I now have a badge that says "Jude" instead of "Mike".  Smooth so far. Now I just need to concentrate on work!

And thank you to everyone for all the nice comments. You all make me feel great.  Even if I don’t believe all of you.  😉

hugs, mwah.

So now people call out to you, “Hey Jude”? Point of trivia that might come in handy, Paul McCartney told an interviewer on camera that the song, “Hey Jude,” started out as, “Hey Jules.” Sir Paul apparently called John’s son Julian “Jules”. The song came to Sir Paul out of sympathy and a desire to be encouraging when he thought about how sad Julian Lennon was when his parents divorced.

Hi…thank you for your note! From what I can see you’ve had some pretty tough challenges yourself. I think it takes such courage to pursue and then bring your convictions into fruition. It sounds like the transition has been a smoothe one!!! Jasspirit and I have been friends since we’re 3 years old. Amazing, huh! This year is 60 years! Take care!

ryn: Well, the Buggers had some kind of base near Pluto, didn’t they? Or am I thinking of one of Heinlein’s alien menaces? I changed the wording to match a Calvin & Hobbes comic strip. Maybe Calvin could have grown up to be Ender. If Card wrote a series that dwells more on religion, I am glad I never read it. The book where they had Catholic planets and Buddhist planets and cetra really annoyed me. To clear my mental palette I read Variable Star, where Spider Robinson expands on an idea by Heinlein and creates a colony ship where evangelistic religions are banned. Only religions that don’t make demands on others are allowed. I was thinking how nice that would be in Maine, where, if I understood today’s news correctly, the Catholics are bound and determined that everybody in the state use the Catholic definition of marriage.

How have people at your job taken to things? Did anyone really know before at all?
