Why I do the ren faire

I do it because I enjoy the idea. I like the comradorie from those I meet. I’ve made a lot of new friends and expanded my personal box.

I do it because I enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy working out at site and seeing something change with the simple use of my hands. I like knowing that I’m making a difference.

I do faire because I get to see people smile. So few people come to faire with a grim look on their faces. They laugh and enjoy themselves through the whole days. The only look of displeasement is from those who are leaving, because they wanted to stay.

I do faire because I want to.

I do not do faire so that I can listen to others complain about it. There is poltics in faire. It sucks. It’s also a part of life. That does not change the fact that it sucks, nor excuse it, it just is.

If you want to quit faire because they slight handed you, that is fine. It is your choice. If you want to quit faire because you are placed with people that you do not get along with, that is also fine. Please, however, don’t try and pawn that dislike onto me.

If you are quitting faire, that is your decision. It is your right and privilage. But do not be mad at me for still being in it. Do not continue to complain to me about things did not go your way. I understand. I can sympathize, but I have gotten over it.

Do not try and punish me for enjoying something. I love how faire makes me feel. I love the home that it gives me. Yes, I know there are politics, but I try and stay away from them. I try to let them lie where they are, because that is who I am.

I am in faire. I want to be in faire. I respect your want to not be, please respect mine.
