To My Best Friend

a friend like you is not easily defined
the beauty of your heart stuns me,
your soul revives me,
your laughter lifts me
you are a true friend,
a shoulder to cry on,
a hand to hold in unknowing times.
One decade, thats how long Ive known you
and though we are apart,
know that I love you.
you are my truest friend,
life would be dull without you
you lift my spirits with a simple smile.
And though we live far from one another,
nothing could tear this friendship apart.
I misss you so much it makes me cry,
to not share with you new memories,
changes in our daily lives,
new beginings.
Shopping at the mall,
flashing random people from a speeding car,
dance class,
jeepers creepers,
junior high.
So many memories that cant even be described.
You were there for me in my darkest times,
through my drug abuse,
and when I lost my way,
you never gave up on me,
you believed in me,
you made me strong.
I strive to be that friend for you,
but its hard,
because your the greatest friend anyone could have.
how you are so perfect, without a thought or try,
is beyond my ability to grasp,
I hope Im am the friend to you, that you are to I.
You been there in my greatest times,
my wedding,
kicking my addiction,
graduating,
you helped me find my way.
I hope we will always be,
friends for life,
friends forever.
I wrote this just so you would know how wonderful I think you are,
even when I forget to call,
your always in my heart.
