Meet My Colbalt *pics*
Today Chris and I both have off, so we went and ran some errands. I got us into some trouble when we got to Walmart though. We were doing good, getting only the items we needed on the list, and while I was looking for kitty litter, I passed the fish section. All the fish looked gross, and unkept. Expect the betta’s, which were in their own little containers. Well this one betta only had literally a half inch of water, and was laying almost sideways just to stay submerged. We told someone, and waited 10 minutes for someone to show up to help. No one did. I couldn’t just leave the poor thing like that, so we bought it. I named him Colbalt. We bought a 10 gallon tank for 10 bucks, some gravel and other things we need for a fish. When we got home I instantly put some more water in his little home. Now I’m just waiting for Chris to get back from taking Sandra to the doctors. The filter we bought is missing a piece so we need to return it. I think the little guy knows we saved him he’s doing much better now.
I’m a little sad only 6 people have guessed, but I guess that’s to be expected.
That little black line on the container is how much water was in there, before I filled it up some.

he’s a gorgeous color!! Im glad you saved him. It makes me sooo sad that Walmart doesn’t take better care of their fish. beta’s don’t need tanks though, they do well in small bowls.

He’s really pretty! I can’t believe that’s all the water he had. They shouldn’t be allowed to sell fish if they’re not going to take proper care of them!

That makes me so sad! Poor fishy! Cobalt reminds me a lot of my old Betta, Meiko. I had him for over 2 years before he died!

that’s horrible that your fish was like that at wal-mart. my walmart does quite well by their fish though.. the tanks always look clean and stuff.. i just bought two plecos from there today as a matter of fact

My fish club and I had been fighting walmart over the betta issue for years. They refuse to change their policy. 10 gallons is wonderful, I hate it when people keep them in bowls. Get him some aeration, check craigslist for an air compressor and I’ll check in my storage area. If I still have my old fish stuff I’ll ship it to yah.
