Introducing Bumblebee
My appointment was so amazing!!! I drank down my quart of liquid, only to puke it up at the last minute walking out the door. I also got a nosebleed at the same time, and was puking and dripping blood into the toilet. Oh bumblebee! Well, it didn’t matter, because I have such a small bladder that I was dancing to pee, even before we left. I held it for a half hour, and was called in pretty quick.
The tech wanted to try a belly ultrasound, since she said I was far enough along, and my bladder was full. I’m really glad I got to skip the trans-vaginal ultrasound, that does not sound pleasant. When she put the gel on my stomach she didn’t warn me it would be hot. I was expecting a very cold gel to hit, and I was quite surprised that it was so warm.
The very first shot of the baby, you could see bumblebee moving all about, waving it’s little arms around. I started crying right then. I was just so relieved to see bumble moving, and so beautiful already. Chris recorded the whole thing on our camera, as well as got us a dvd of the ultrasound. And of course we have pictures. I’m waiting for the video’s to load while I write. Oh she checked out my ovaries in the ultrasound and said they looked fine. That was so cool to see!
It was so amazing to see the baby move, and to hear the heartbeat. I was so relieved and happy at the same time. I cried quite a few times, but tried to hide it so I wouldn’t look like an idiot. Chris asked a bunch of questions. After the ultrasound was over, we were just waiting for the dvd to finish, and I was so entranced I forgot I had to pee, until the tech mentioned I could go if I wanted.
Bumblebee’s heartbeat was 165.74 BPM and growing right on schedule.
After we left we went to the bloodwork place and got my bloodwork done. That was no fun. I hate seeing and hearing the blood fill the viles. Ewwww! But I am a dream with my viens, the lady was very pleased. My arm already hurts though. After that we went and got some tasty mexican food since I was feeling hungry and I needed to get something so I wouldn’t get weak.
The head is on the right of your screen, that little blip at the top is an arm.
We love bumblebee so much already, oh and the yolk sac is right by the head.
And the videos… the third one you can hear the heartbeat! We couldn’t get the DVD to work on the computer, so these are what Chris recorded with our camera.
The first video, you can barely make it out, but you can see the baby waving. In the second video you can see the baby kicking it’s little legs and moving it’s arms!
awww YAY! I’m so happy for you! It does look like a little bumble bee!

My veins are a dream as well, but the thought/sound of having my blood drawn makes me SICK. I nearly threw up when they drew my blood at the last visit. They took about 6 vials and I got so light-headed they though I was going to pass out. They had to make me lay down and bring me some ice water to get me back to normal 😛
