Birth Story (pics) Finally
I’m finally a little caught up on sleep and other things that I can update. I can’t believe it’s ben a whole week! She’s just gorgegous and perfect. Things have been crazy around here hence the lack of a wuick update.
Tuesday after my appointment I started losing giant chunks of my mucus plug. I went shopping for last minute items, and did her laundry up. I got my birth plan ready and my hospital bag ready and headed off to bed about 12:00am. I was having some mild contractions at that point but nothing bad. I slept off and on most the night, until about 5:30am, went I woke the contractions were definately strong, and about 3 minutes apart. I called the hospital who told me to wait another half hour to see if the contractions lasted, which they did. Chris and I left the house at 6:40am, and when we reached the hospital the contractions where about 2 minutes apart. I was 3 cm, 90% effaced and at 0 station. They admitted me, and we got a nice little room. Finally after pumping full of fluids they gave me the epidural, it was the best thing ever. I did end up needing some pictocen but just one dose. I was in labor for about 10 hours, and active labor for 45 minutes. She came out beautifully. Kensington Rae N****** was born October 24th, 2007, at 3:02pm, weighing in at 6lbs 7oz’s and 19" long. Everything is going well, we’ve been tired of course, and it’s just Chris and I, no outside help who lives in town. My parents will be here in December, and that seems so far away right now.
I ended up stopping at 155lbs and one week later I weigh 130. I’ve lost 25 pounds, 15 below my prepregnancy weight.
She is just tiny, and even the newborn clothes we have seem to swallow her.
Unfortunately Sandra s back in the hospital. She hadn’t eaten in a week and she kept dry heavy, and being very confused. Turns out she kept canceling her blood work appointments to make sure she wasn’t getting too much blood thinners, and she got coumidin toxicicity. It was life threatening. It still could be. She had four blood transfusions, and is still ni the hospital. What should be a super happy time for Chris and I is dampered a little by the fact that he now has to split his time between me and the baby, and his mom, and work. I angry because she alwyas does this to herself, and lets herself slip into such a horrible state she’s near death. You think her last visit would have shaken her into reality a little but no.
