Fuzzy slippers

It’s thirty-seven degrees here in middle Jawja.  I think fuzzy slipper weather’s hit!  I know i’ve had cccccold toes the past few mornings, wearing my flip flops to work when the mornings started out in the fifties, but they’ve thawed out nicely by noon time.  Flip flops in the morning weather could be comin’ to an end for me.  ‘Course there are always those folks, like Soph’s neice, who wear flip flops in the snow…silly girl!!

Bailey spent the night last weekend (another silly girl!).  She looked up at her mama while we were eating pizza and said, "I forgot to bring my bathing soup!".  It was tough to explain to her that swimming season was over.  The next day, her and i were looking out the back door, with the pool twenty feet away from us and she said, "I’m sad that i can’t go swimming no more."

Yeah, me, too, Bailey…me, too.

And…the boat’s in the shop getting winterized.    I’m deffinately a summer person!!

We celebrated Kim’s bd last weekend even though it’s not until the 18th, but her and the kids were in town so we got together like we used to (minus her bull headed brother) and made a big deal of it…pizza, homemade carrot cake (mmmmm!), and fun presents…just like the good ole days!

I miss them living close by.  And the latest plan is for Ant to leave his gov’t job and move to NC with them the beginning of the year.  I know that life would be sooooo much easier for them as a couple and a family if one of them moved…but i keep hoping and praying that Kim will find a job here.  They don’t have family up there…and we basically don’t have family here.  We need each other!  So, if you’re saying your prayers, put in one for Kim to move the family back down here, would you?  I’d appreciate it!!

And…remember Soph, too, k?  Along with the parents and friends of  a precious two year old boy who lost his life in a horrendous way.  Soph was running squad that day…and her heart will never be the same…

Love ya, Soph!!!!  And…i’m sorry you had to go through that (that sounds so lame).  But you’re appreciated by lots and lots of folks that you’ve been there for and made a difference.

They’ve been working j bunches of hours for the past couple of hectic weeks.  I’m sooo spoiled by him running errands and doing around the house and i don’t think i realized how much until now!  But…our 1 year anniversary’s coming up next Sat and we’re going back to Jekyll Island, our mostest favorite place!  We’ve been on the historical tour there several times, but this month, they have the ghost tours in the millionaires "cottages" every weekend.  Great fun!!!

I couldn’t stand it…i gave j his anniversary present last night, since UPS had delivered it earlier in the day.  I spent wayyyyy too much money…but it was worth every penny to see the pleasure and excitement on his face!!  It’s an ohhhh so soft black leather (lambskin) jacket.  He’s been wanting a black leather jacket for at least four years that i know of– he mentioned it to me in a telephone conversation when i was still living in Ohio.

After "wowwing" and checking himself out in the mirror (in his new fancy jacket…and his Scooby Doo boxers…i know, TMI), i swear i saw his eyes well up when he said, "Nobody’s ever gotten me anything so nice!"  Awwwwwwwwww!!!!!!

I called Nancy and we talked for about two hours one day last week.  I LOVE her!!  I didn’t know it, but her and her new husband, Medhi, wrote their own vows, sitting on the porch of the cabin they’d rented for their honeymoon.  She sent a copy of their vows with the wedding announcement and i wondered where they’d gotten such beautiful words (i want to post them…all in good time!).  In quite Nancy-like fashion (and apparently, Medhi-like fashion, too!), they had a two hour ceremony in the woods around the the cabin, creating their own aisle to walk down, ending up at the lake.  I can just picture it all…the stuff memories are made of.  **sigh**

She makes me laugh!!  Her husband is in his third year of residency (yes, Nancy married  a doctor, soon to be psychiatrist!  this family alone could make up his clientel…and great case studies!!).  For the first time in her life, she’s not dirt poor.  And yet, she told me that as much as she’d love to have somewhere for guests to sit besides the exercise ball, she just can’t bear to go buy new furniture.  Their living room suit consists of a love seat given to them by some friends.  She’s such a delight to me!!!

Her father still hasn’t talked to her…claiming that he’s going to…but he doesn’t know what to say.  She told me about a year ago that she wasn’t ready to talk to him because she didn’t know what to say.  I say it’s time to give it a shot…again.  Maybe they’ve both matured in the past few years.  Regardless, she’ll always be a part of my life…and my angel.

LeeLee’s in Cali visiting Heather!!!  I’m soooo excited for them both…and jealous!!!  LeeLee made the trip to Atlanta and the flight out allllll by herself…something she’s never done before!!  Since she’s 27 years old, i think it was about time!!  She left the kids with her husband and Heather’s husband’s in Iraq, so i’m looking for them to be on the evening news…Heather wide-eyed and innocent looking and LeeLee in handcuffs, saying, "Yeah, but it was fun!!!".  They’re loose in LA for the weekend, where Heather’s dad lives, then they’ll be going back to a more rural area that Heather lives in.  Ohhhhhh, i can’t wait to hear the stories!!  They were shopping where the stars shop last night when LeeLee called to let me know she’d made it safely.

Wowser!!!  I didn’t know how much i had stored in this little brain that i needed to write!!!!

Hope ya’ll have a bea-U-tiful and blessed day!!
