Hi ya’ll!!  Yeah…it’s me!!  I know, i know…i had no idea how long i’d been MIA, but for right now, this moment, i’m back.  And…it’s good to be with ya’ll…to read your words.

And because i don’t know where the heck to start, i’m gonna cheat a little, just to get started, and post something that i wrote Dec 18 of last year, the one year anniversary of losing the love of my life…

As i start writing, it’s exactly the time of the one year anniversary on your death certificate.  I’m sleepy…but not ready to sleep.

I’ve missed you terribly, as you know.  But…i’m also thankful for soooo many things.

Your pain’s gone, Hon.  And…although you were only 56 years young, i know the pain had gotten to be too much to bare.  And the good Lord knew way better than i did!!!

I’m thankful for the joy of living with you…of the hugs i got in passing…no words exchanged…but feeling so loved and so grateful to be able to return that feeling.

I’m thankful for all of the laughter and joy you brought me and so many others!!  I’m thankful that the grandkids remember you so fondly.  They tell me stories of what "Papa" did.

I’m thankful for the time your children had with you…they miss you…are lost without you, at times.

I’m thankful for the friends that’ll never forget you…that still have wonderful things to say about you.  And the ones that have been with me all the way, to help me through losing you.

And…i’m thankful that i’ve been blessed to survive.

But mostly…i’m thankful for the memories we all have and will cherish of you.

You’ll always be a part of me.  Of us.
