Sleep?
There’s a scene from an episode of West Wing’s fourth season where Danny and CJ are talking. Danny’s been up for nearly three days straight, working on a story the White House has asked him to hold off printing for reasons of national security. Not really important. CJ walks into the press briefing room to find Danny writing the article.
C.J.
Danny?
DANNY
Yeah.
C.J.
What are you doing here? Why aren’t you asleep?
DANNY
I really don’t know.
C.J. begins to walk to the UPPER PRESS ROOM.
C.J.
Well, what are you writing?
DANNY
A volume of springtime haiku.
C.J.
Three days, Daniel.
DANNY
I’m filing in three days, I still got to write it.
I kind of felt like Danny driving home this evening. I don’t know how I was still awake and not crashing my car, although there were a few very interesting moments. I can’t do all-nighters and 450-miles the same way I used to be able to. I just crash and burn. I’m still exhausted and I have no idea how I’m awake now. But this is the first day of my last Spring Break as an undergrad. I’m back at my parents house for two nights, mostly to drop off some books and pick up my new oboe/EH case. This thing is badass and beautiful. I love this thing. Though its going to take some getting used to. But I’ll get there!
After I really just go to bed now…..
